We spent 7 days at Mahekal at the end of Jan 2026. LOVED every minute. Small, un-crowded resort with clean pools and spotless, comfortable rooms. The staff is simply amazing and friendly, they made every moment special with their attention to detail. We stayed in the King Palapa gardem view. We loved the natural roof and the attached porch with seating and hammocks. Mahekal is truly a magical place. We did the half-board option with breakfast and dinner buffets and had no regrets. Food was very fresh and a bit different every day. We headed into Playa for lunch, which was great due to the cental location of the resort. We cant wait to go back!!!

Our room was clean, however the bathroom room area had odor of sewer. We reported this to the front desk staff and he said someone would be at our room right away. No one came. No one contacted us. We kept toilet cover shut and bathroom door shut. The odor would come and go for the rest of our stay. The staff at the pool, breakfast and buffet are attentive and friendly. We always enjoy our time at the Allegro! Beach was beautiful!

Tropical gardens, exotic wildlife and incredible underground caverns make a trip to this ecological park a truly memorable experience.

20 minutes south of Playa del Carmen by car. This is by far the best beach we found. Beautiful white sand, chill vibe, a couple of small hotels and restaurants, and plenty of empty beach space. Amazing spot!!
