What a perfect stay
Everything was wonderful. From the beautiful cottage to the gorgeous views, there is nothing that wasnt absolutely perfect
We will definitely be coming back.
We had such a lovely time staying at this cottage. If was beautifully furnished and the view was spectacular. We had our dog with us and she enjoyed being able to hike around the property. I think she was ready to move in. lol Communication with the property people was quite good. This may not be your place if you don't bring food with you or are willing to navigate some seriously rural roads without the help of GPS. I came prepared with directions and we loved traversing the backroads to get to Sperryville and Washington where we found some very tasty fare. We would definitely come back in the future.
My husband and I loved our stay at the cottage. First, we arrived after dark entrance into the cottage was easy. When entered the cottage it was truly magical. There was a beautiful Christmas tree. The large beautiful king size bed was decorated for Christmas and the bed was very comfortable. The cottage was warm and comfortable. The scenery was both pristine and fun. We felt as if we were alone on this beautiful piece of land. There were animals in pens that we enjoyed watching goats, a pig and a few different varieties of birds. We were actually not alone and we easily located the host. The host were lovely people who were friendly, informative and helpful. It’s also good to know that while this is a rural area. There is a town with everything you need about 25 minutes away. It was a great stay. I would love to come back to this property.
This was our second stay at Castleton. Just as wonderful as the first. Highly recommend hiking the Hazel River Trail for the closest access to The Park.
The cottage was amazing and the grounds are beautiful! My wife and I had a great time here. We only stayed for one night but look forward to returning for a longer trip to experience all that the property has to offer. Very cool place! Connie and her husband were wonderful; very welcoming and helpful. Can't wait to go back!
Connie and Paul were excellent hosts for a quick get away at a beautiful location. The cottage was very cute and the estate was quiet and beautiful! I would highly recommend this site.
We rented the Rock Cottage for a week to relax and escape NYC. The Castleton Meadows grounds are beautiful. The cottage was clean, but there were some bugs that became a nuisance by the end of the week. Overall it was supplied with the essentials to easily settle in during our stay.

Wonderful setting!
Such beautiful surroundings! In a wonderful, farm setting, this cottage offers a gorgeous opportunity to stay in-house for a lovely dinner in an updated terrific kitchen, as well as a great "home-base" for exploring near-by amenities (pool, steam room, hiking trails, animals), small towns, wineries and the mountains. We had a very fun weekend exploring! Thank you!!

GORGEOUS AND PEACEFUL
My husband, dog and I had the best time on our short weekend trip, so much so that at checkout we booked the rock cottage again for next weekend!!!! The rock cottage is beautiful with a soaking tub big enough for two. The grounds are gorgeous with breath taking views in every direction. Connie (The property manager) was so Friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable! This place is truly a treasure!!! I can’t wait to go back!
Everything you would want to get away from the hustle of everyday life. Romantic setting and lots of walking trails. Management was a delight and very accommodating. Private hot tub and full kitchen stocked with tea and kcups was a pleasant surprise. Little country store down the road had excellent breakfast sandwiches, homemade desserts and fresh bacon. So close to several wineries and antique shops. I will definitely stay here again!
My fiance and I had a wonderful two night stay at the Rock Cottage. It was very relaxing, enjoyed the hot tub. The grounds are beautiful and peaceful. We saw deer running around the hiking trail and they also came close to the cottage. The Zebra and the Zonkey are adorable. The White Oak Canyon trail lower entrance is about 35 minutes away. We walked to the first waterfall about 1.3 mile away from the parking lot. Will love to come back!!!
The Cottage at Castleton was exactly what I needed - away but close enough and the property was beautiful, clean and well-loved. The only complaint I have (and it's not the owner's fault - it's not anybody's fault) is that the Wi-fi service is sketchy in that area and getting a phone signal was nearly impossible. Other than that, the property was wonderful. I'd love to host a retreat here in the future.
We had a great time visiting Shenandoah National Park while staying in the Rock Cottage. Our experience with this rental was fantastic and we highly recommend it to others. Connie is a great property manager who showed us around the 500+ acre area with all its features to be sure we would have the best possible stay. The cottage was spotless and had everything we needed for a comfortable time, including our own outdoor hot tub for relaxing after a day of hiking in the park. We also used the pool/spa facility for even more relaxation. It was also fun to go around to see the animals on the farm. Overall, the experience was amazing and we will be coming back for our next Shenandoah trip.
Rock Cottage is as described. It is spacious and well appointed. The bed is very comfortable and we slept well. To know- they are serious about you needing to bring everything to add for cooking, oil, spices etc. this include coffee filters. There are pods but if you are big coffee drinkers you will want to use the pot. The scenery is beautiful and the walking path to the Manor house is well kept for a short explore.

Wonderful for a getaway weekend!
My fiance and I (and our dog) stayed here over the MLK holiday weekend. It was the perfect option for a nice winter getaway. The cottage was even nicer than it looked in the photos - all the furnishings looked brand new and it was super clean. I wasn't sure if it would be chilly since the weather very cold, windy, and rainy, but it stayed warm and cozy inside the cottage. We also loved the spa facilities. The sauna felt amazing with the cold weather we were having, and the one evening we were there, we had the whole building to ourselves. Connie was super helpful with getting us settled in, and she had some great tips for wineries to visit. Magnolia was our favorite! We highly recommend the Stone Cottage!
My husband and I spent a week at Rock Cottage. It is located in a beautiful secluded country area. The cottage looks exactly like the pictures and everything was well thought out with little comforts like bathrobes and bottled water. We enjoyed seeing lots of deer every day along with ground hogs and hearing the cows in the morning. The bed is extremely comfortable and the kitchen is well equipped. I liked the frying pans so much that I ordered some for my home. Plan to cook most nights as restaurants are about 30 minutes away. Shenandoah National Park is also about 30 minutes away and Luray Caverns about 45 minutes away. This is a great place to stay and I would definitely stay here again.
I didn't read the fine print on the $50 charge for the pool/spa so I was a little bummed out over that but otherwise it was a terrific stay. We were especially happy that no one had rented behind us for the time we were there. Everyone was very attentive and the grounds are very well maintained. You can do a LOT of walking here on the paved path (5 miles) or hiking trails. It would have been ideal to have mountain bikes. Having a hot tub will be an added bonus. Will definitely return.
The Rock Cottage is perfectly set up for a bridal party to get ready in for a wedding, with multiple makeup tables, plenty of space to hang things, a mirror and stage setup, kitchen and large fridge.
We also discovered it was perfect for a romantic getaway. My fiancé and I did a little mini-getaway here in early November. Everything is up to date, the views are stunning, the hot tub was clean, there was a large tub in the bathroom, coffee/tea/cider cups were provided for the Kuerig and the bed was comfortable. The kitchen was stocked with things you would need to use to cook (pots/pans/blender) and had plenty of wine glasses and coffee cups. The owners worked with us checking in since we were arriving late and couldn’t have been nicer. All of the houses on this farm are more spread out than they seem on the map. It was about a mile from the Rock Cottage to the Hospitality office. The Rock Cottage and Blue Ridge Cottage backup to one another, but we never ran into our neighbors because of the way the houses are set up.
I would HIGHLY recommend this cottage and look forward to staying at the meadows again.
A couple things we learned along the way for those vacationing here: There is zero Verizon service, but the WiFi worked well. Be prepared to drive a minimum or 15/20 minutes to get to food in any direction. Most wineries/breweries were closed on Monday and Tuesday.
