"This was a journey break going from Punakaiki to Akaroa so it was only one night. We did the Devils Punchbowl at Arthur’s Pass before checking in and then the next day we did the Cave Stream Scenic Reserve (note: lambing has shut the stream exit from the cave Nov to Feb but continue around the path system to where the river flows into the cave system and you can get some great pictures without going in). Back to the hotel - very friendly staff, simple menu for dinner and our lodge was well equipped and very comfortable. (Say hello to the Moa’s)"

"The villa was wonderful—gorgeous views, a nice living area with a good kitchen. There were good coffee options in the kitchen and necessary utensils. The spa/jacuzzi was quite nice after a long day, and you could also enjoy a view from the tub. The in unit washer and dryer was nice to have. "
