"Hilton was great - 5*. The King Suite was 5*. The #1 reason I marked down the rating is due to EXPEDIA - NOT HILTON. EXPEDIA did not mention anywhere on their booking site that the activities at the resort would be inaccessible to us due to the building being painted and/or renovation on the rooftop where all of the activities would have been (everything was closed: the pool and jacuzzi, the pickleball courts, ping pong, and all of the other activities). Construction workers/Painters began early - and woke us up most mornings...and went on throughout the day. I do understand that this is the off-season and things need to be done, however, I do think we should have been told ahead of time. Hilton did everything possible to accommodate us by giving us pool use at a sister facility. All that to say, we would like to stay here again when everything is open. The room was fabulous! The lobby was great, and the billiard table was a bonus on the first floor arcade area. And the bellhop and valet staff were really helpful."

"It was a great location. Nice to be close to hiking trails and the beautiful lake. Nice to have casino and live music in the evening. I was there during the week and a lot of construction going on. By the weekend they had cleared it up. The tower we were in had a weird air conditioning system. So we had trouble figuring it out so it was pretty hot in the room. They did offer a fan. Also no WiFi access on the floor we were on. Had to go to the lobby. Luckily we were out and about most of the day."

"I stayed in a king room and the bed was very comfortable. The room was quiet from other surrounding rooms. The frig and microwave in the room was very useful. The location was very close to casinos and many restaurants. The Continental breakfast was more than that. They had a waffle iron for fresh waffles, breakfast sandwich with egg, sausage, cheese and English Muffin that could be heated up, cereals, yogurt, milk, juices, etc."

"The Margaritaville Resort Lake Tahoe brings a slice of the tropics straight to the Sierra Nevada. Taking over the old Lake Tahoe Resort Hotel property in South Lake Tahoe, this spot has undergone a massive, colorful transformation. It trades traditional rustic cabin vibes for a vibrant, Jimmy Buffett-inspired "island attitude at a high latitude." Here is a realistic look at what it is like to stay there, what hits the mark, and what to keep in mind. The Location: A Perfect 10/10 If location is your top priority, you cannot beat this property. Prime Spotting: It sits right on Lake Tahoe Boulevard in the heart of South Lake Tahoe. Walkability: You are a mere 5-minute walk to the Heavenly Village Gondola and the shops, and less than a 5-minute walk to the Stateline casinos (Harrah's, Caesars, and Bally's). The Lake: The actual lakeside is just about a 10-minute stroll away, making it incredibly convenient whether you are loading up for a day on the ski mountain, heading out for a summer hike, or grabbing dinner. The Rooms: All-Suite Comfort One of the biggest selling points carried over from the property's previous life is the layout: it is an all-suite resort. The Setup: Instead of a cramped standard hotel room, you get a spacious two-room suite featuring a separate living area with a pull-out sofa, a second TV, a mini-fridge, and a coffee maker. Having a spacious, spotlessly clean suite with plenty of extra linens makes a huge difference when you're traveling."

Bally’s Lake Tahoe Casino Resort

2/10 Terrible

"We switched rooms twice and the air conditioning wasn’t working. You could tell it wasn’t working from the moment you walked inside the casino or got off the elevator to the room. First rooms bathroom was dirty and had dark long hair everywhere."
