"The proprietors were charming folks and resident Alaskans. They provided a wonderful breakfast, taking into account our dietary preferences. They also were interesting in that they housed firefighters who had been working to control wildfires threatening some of Alaska's beautiful natural areas."
"It was very nice, the personal hygiene products available for guests were "doce" ...a refreshing alternative to the stanard off-name brands in other hotels. "
"The Wedgwood Resort maintains a good standard of cleanliness throughout the property. Rooms and common areas were generally well-kept, and housekeeping was attentive to requests. While there’s still a little room for improvement in attention to detail, overall the resort provides a comfortable and clean environment for guests."

Pike's Waterfront Lodge
10/10 Excellent
"We love Pike’s! Totally off the charts Alaskan kitsch. It borders on the absurd but always stays JUST inside the line. Have stayed there many times over the years for work and family trips. Excellent Alaskan regional Art (Fejes, DeRoux, Matchetanz, etc.) and … ducks, stuffed dead animals, ice cream and neon! What’s not to love? Stay here. It is not another anonymous tourist hotel. On the river, plenty beer, ice cream, and bocce. You will have a story to tell when you get home. "

"Found door locked for security when tried to open door front desk visible thru window but still had to buzz in to tell them were checking in. Noticed surrounding businesses had padlock chains after closing . Did not feel very safe walking in neighborhood "
"This is among the top places I have stayed in my 50 years of travel. The area is convenient and quiet, and the home was comfortable and clean. Communication was excellent. The host provided snacks, gourmet coffee, and chilled water for our use. These thoughtful touches made the stay especially nice."
