Not much to look at from the outside but very nice once you step through the door. Ate in the restaurant and my food was fantastic. A really nice surprise. Room was very dark, the lighting very poor, seems to be a common theme in hotels but this was worse than most. Comfortable bed, but the thing that let the room down was the dirty cups and the tea tray absolutely caked in dust. Rest of the room seemed clean so not sure why that had been missed. A bit of a mixed bag this place but I would stay again.

Charges guests £8 to park the car. Very limited food menu that never changes. So stay for more than 3 nights and you are bored with it. Very clean hotel and rooms, spacious lobby and lounge. Staff are very good. A solid 4 out of 5 overall.

Friendly and efficient staff. Dog friendly with convenient short walks nearby. Good location and easy parking, although tgat does cost a little extra. Breakfast buffet is very good.

There is no soundproofing between rooms ,we could no slep ,laud bangings almost all night .the morning around 5 am was worse ,noise from everywhere .The breakfast was not good .very cheap economy stuff, everything from sausages ,bacon ,eggs, fruits everything tasted so cheap .really not nice .Staff was ok helpful if you needed something. Overall cheap budget hotel which somehow has 4 stars

The hotel was advertised as being in the Docklands area, Tiger Bay, it was on the other side of Cardiff. The receptionist was rude to my partner when she tried to check in as she had arrived before me. The room was smaller than expected, no fridge which was surprising. We ordered food which was terrible, so much so we had to send a plate back, the wrong side order was served. Overpriced drinks. Unsure how this hotel has the rating it does. Very disappointed as we were looking forward to staying there.

Very clean hotel. Spacious lounge not over crowded. Gents toilet needed a clean.t floor, full bins and dirty sink. Room very clean and well maintained. 5 out of 5. Bar man, Moses, could do with customer service training. Reception staff excellent. Over all a good 4 out if 5.

The building seems a bit dated from the outside, but the inside was relatively modern and well maintained. The fitness centre could be better, as only a few treadmills and a cable machine in there with no free weights, but it served a purpose. Worth a stay here

Staff was polite and lovely, how the cleaners came inside the room and did a very lovely job. The one lady even put my teddy bear back onto the bed looking all snug! Would highly recommend to friends

Excellent room. Clean and spacious. Breakfast was ok - pretty standard so nothing to complain about. Paying to park is however outrageous when you have to park to get there!

Swift check-in for me personally, although there was a queue behind me. They seemed a little understaffed considering there was a big party going on and lots of people arriving. Super comfortable bed and pillows and soft, plush carpet which was lovely under foot. Shower controls not directly underneath the shower head, which was amazing - more hotels should do this! A couple of minor gripes: The air con unit kicked in and made whirring noises for about 10 minutes, every 10 minutes, even when the aircon/heater was off. The door stop in the bathroom was in just the wrong place, between the sink and the towel rail and bin. I was amazed I didn't stub my toe as it is just where you want to put your foot when reaching for the towel. It wasn't even stopping the door, as the stopper was too low and the door just glided over it and hit the toilet instead (room 322). I don't remember reading this before I came (but maybe I just missed it), so for information, the parking is charged at £8 per night.

Parking charge....
Overall everything was great. However, I booked the hotel when parking was included. When I arrived I was told I had to pay £8 and it was explained by the receptionist they'd started charging since the beginning of the year....I explained it wasn't chargeable when I booked and so the conversation went on and on until the charge was waived. Not the best start to an overwise fine stay.

No clear reception area identified, signage needed. No refrigerator in room. Shower steps up so shortens height, had to tilt head. Aircon in room broken so portable oil fin heater provided. Good sized room, nicely renovated. Walls not sound proof, disturbed sleep due to next room noise. Gym very basic and cold, but Complimentary water is a nice touch.

OK but not excellent
Location was great for our needs, hotel was OK but let itself down on 2 main points. 1 the lighting in the room was very poor (if I was on a business trip and had to work it would have been very difficult) and 2, the breakfast could have been better, the bacon was seriously under cooked. Otherwise a good night's sleep in a quiet room.
