THE STUDIO.
Our studio (remodeled in 2025) comes furnished with all the essentials you need for your time here ~ a comfortable Queen-sized bed with lots of pillows and cotton linens, a kitchenette equipped with a electric two-burner stovetop, a microwave, coffee maker, large fridge, plates, bowls, cooking utensils, & tea.
There is a full-size Roku TV, there is no AC but there is an overhead fan & that is sufficient for the weather here. (South Kona is typically cooler than Kailua-Kona)
We have an outdoor lanai (porch) overlooking the garden and partial ocean views in front of the room with seating to enjoy your meals. The outdoor shower is also on the lanai and has hot water & is private. The toilet and sink is located inside of the studio.
We have a quiet and tranquil setting for you to fully relax Hawaiian style. We have a couple of other sunset viewing and lounging areas to enjoy the beautiful, expansive ocean view.
THE FARM-LAND.
'Hale Naupaka' means 'house of powerful love' in Hawaiian. Our intention with this land is to restore the land and create a farm where we can sustain ourselves 100% from what we grow and cultivate a space of connection with others to build community.
We are on 5 acres of land where we are renovating and creating a space to gather retreats and events in the future. We've already planted bananas, papayas, pineapples, avocados, mountain apples, cherimoya, and different herbs and we continue to plant more.
THE HOSTS.
We are Morena and Jacob, married together living and working on building our mission on this farm.
Morena is a plant-based chef who works at a local snorkeling boat company and is passionate about healthy-holistic living. Morena's first language is Spanish and she was born in South America.
Jacob is a professional carpenter and works with local wood and does all of the renovations of the buildings on the farm. Jacob loves to surf and spend his free time in the garden.
We love to hike with our dog, spend time on the beach, camp, travel and explore the other Islands. Our food is almost always homemade, locally grown, organic and using what we grow as much as possible. We are also into yoga, spirituality, meditation, and practicing to be more conscious humans together.
**Our dog Raja is a friendly dog and roams on the property, feel free to say hello. **
THE LOCATION.
We are located 20 minutes from Captain Cook and Ocean View, 40 minutes from Kona, 1hr 20min from Volcano National Park and Pebble Beach is just 5 minutes from our home. The beautiful grey sandy beach 'Ho'okena' is also just 25 minutes away.
The closest convenience store is 10 minutes away and the closest grocery store is 20 minutes away. There is a local fruit stand 15 minutes away with different exotic and tropical fruits.
We are located directly off the main road which makes it easy to come and go as you please.
WHO THIS SPACE IS FOR.
Couples or Singles who are travelers, adventurous, nature lovers, backpackers, guests who value a local experience, and those who want to reconnect with themselves and focus on inner healing.
WHAT TO EXPECT.
We live right off of the highway so expect noise from cars going by. It's the busiest during rush hour times (7am-9am and 5-6pm).
This is not a fancy hotel, we live surrounded by animals and nature. There are geckos, mosquitoes, ants, coqui frogs, wild chickens and different insects.
We live in the house next door and you can text us anytime with any questions and concerns. We work during the day for our jobs but we are present for our guests. On the weekends, we stay on the farm and work on building, planting, weeding, etc. We can give you as little or as much space as you'd like to hangout and chat.
This is a quiet space, so please be mindful of noise during the hours of 9PM-6AM.
We compost our food scraps and have left a container for you in the fridge to use. Let us know and we will empty it for you when it's full.
We have a Kangen Water Machine that produces electrolyzed reduced hydrogen water. We will provide drinking water for you from this machine if desired. We want to produce less waste and want to be mindful of plastic consumption.
We are smoke-free, no smoking on the property however there is a spot up by the road you can smoke if necessary.
There is 1 parking space available on the driveway for you to use and park your car
You will park in front of the garage/storage room (we don't really use it) and walk along the path to the entrance of the studio.
This is a very safe neighborhood with other vacation rentals close by. There is a key for you to use for your stay.
We have neighbors nearby, but they are spaced far from us and you do not have to interact with them if you don't want to.
No shoes inside the studio please, its a hawaiian custom
~~~~~~~~~~~~
We welcome longer discounted stays (weeks, months+) and welcome your pets and service animals. animals are not allowed inside the studio but we do have a covered lanai with a doggy door and we can provide a dog bed if needed.
Reach out if you have any questions or would like any more information. We are so excited to host you and cannot wait to meet you! We hope you have a special experience here in Hawaii.
Aloha,
Morena and Jacob
