The site is well placed for sightseeing, whether it's Canterbury or north, east or south for the coast. There are plenty of wildlife parks, we visited 3 and plenty of other good places to visit. At the end of each day it was the welcome sight of the lodge, knowing we could relax in the wonderful, comfortable, quiet surrounds of the site.

I stayed here for a long weekend (Fri to Monday) with my dog. Booking was super easy and directions were great. On arrival the check in was super efficient and staff lovely. The lodge was absolutely fantastic, spacious, clean with everything you need - lovely comfy lounge area with TV, big dining table and kitchen with all appliances and utensils you might need. A lovely big decking area with garden furniture (perfect for breakfast!). Bedrooms are spacious and comfy with lovely clean white linen and towels and the main room is en-suite. There are also loads of sockets which was handy for charging phone etc. The location was perfect - as the name suggests, so peaceful and relaxing - the decking faced into the woodland so the deck is surrounded by trees and so quiet, all you can hear are the birds tweeting away - utter bliss! It was a hot weekend but the lodge was lovely and cool and the trees provided some much needed shade on the decking. There is a cute little woodland walk onsite with a picnic area which my dog loved and loads of places nearby to walk or visit. If you have a dog I can highly recommend Hugo’s Fun Dog Field if you’d like a secure place to let your dog run off lead! The reception has a few drinks and chocolate etc. but nearby is a lovely farm shop (details in welcome pack) and the village post office in Stelling Minnis just a few mins drive is really well stocked. Although dog friendly, dogs are not permitted in the carpeted areas of the lodge (the bedrooms) - they are easy to close off as there is an extra door between bedrooms and living area - not a problem, but worth knowing as I didn’t see that mentioned on the website. A few teabags and milk sachets are provided along with small soaps in the bathroom and a dishwasher tablet - if you will be cooking it’s worth bringing some extras along to save washing up :-) Absolutely perfect place for a relaxing break, would definitely come back!
