It's wonderful as was the welcome and assistance we were given with transportation. It's a beautifully maintained large 1850s home transformed into a top notch Inn.

St. Stephens Guest House.
My daughter and l had a lovely stay. Sandra and Dave were very friendly and helped us with everything we requested. The room was clean and cosy. The breakfast was tasty and there was a good choice. We would definitely use this B&B again.

Lovely and convenient.
Lovely bed and breakfast, really convenient short walk into Canterbury.. Friendly hosts providing a lovely breakfast. Room was clean and garden a pleasure. Would happily return and recommend to others.

Ideal first visit.
Fantastic service and accommodation. Very comfortable. The perfect place to stay when visiting Canterbury. 10 mins walk to the town centre. Will definitely come here again.

Looking on line I liked the look the traditional property, unfortunately the room was in the extension out the back and even though the room was implacably clean it was very small and characterless. Good breakfast and friendly service. Good walking distance from the town centre.

Room and bathroom clean water pressure in shower good but tepid, carpet very stained..... bed very uncomfortable. Shabby entrance in reception very dated needs fresh coat of paint and new carpet...also steange smell emanating from somewhere.

Thank you for your review. We're very sorry to hear that your stay with us wasn't that satisfactory. We agree that the reception needs re-decorating and a new carpet and this will hopefully be done in 2020. The hot water should have been hot and we investigated after you mentioned it on check out not finding an obvious problem other than a possible high demand and for some reason the water hadn't had the chance to heat up again. We apologise again for this as we failed to notice the problem. You also mentioned that the carpet was very stained. We double checked it after you checked out and we failed to find any stains. You never said anything about the bed but we are sorry to hear that you found it very uncomfortable. All our mattresses are medium-firm so perhaps not to everyone's taste. As for the strange smell emanating from somewhere (which wasn't mentioned on check out either) no idea what this could be. No other guests reported anything of the sort and we certainly didn't notice anything. We can assure you that we endeavour to make our guests' stay as comfortable as possible and we take your comments on board.

David and Sandra are excellent. Their warm welcoming and smile make you feels like home. Located closely to the west station and only a short walk to downtown. Room was clean and bright, and their information pack...Its just fab! It gives you all the information that you may or want to know; attractions, restaurants, local amenities and more! Definitely will return!

Lovely, clean b&b located close to canterbury town centre. The hosts were very nice and provided leaflets on what to do and provided information on where to eat, travel and places to visit in a handbook in the room.

Nice room but bathroom a little tired with splits in bath panel , easy walk along river bank into Town , breakfast excellent , made to feel very welcome , car park small so if busy could be a problem but we parked fine . would definitely recommend this guest house .

A conveniently located Bed and Breakfast
Conveniently located on a quiet street that is still a only a short walk to the downtown area. We wanted to stay out of the downtown, which can get rather noisy at night, with many bars in this area. Our host was pleasant and efficient, and our room was clean.

My stay was brief but very enjoyable. St Stephens is in walking distance for Canterbury Cathedral and town centre. Friendly service and a good breakfast provided.

Solo overnight stay
Very comfortable bed, bathroom was fine. Wifi effective. Only slight negatives were th E view from the bedroom window (a hedge and minor landscaping work in progress) and a slightly tired bathroom. Everything worked fine, but there was discolouration to some areas. Didn't affect my stay though. Breakfast was lovely, hosts very kind and friendly.
