Very old property. Food is ok. We got a connected room at first and had to switch rooms cause the people next door were really loud and heard everything cause of the thin walls. Mold all over the showers. All the public bathrooms were very smelly. No food is allowed outside the dining area. Definitely not a resort for families or with kids. This is more of a getaway for a few days without a lot of expectations. Shows at night time sucked too. Too many rules for a vacation spot. They really need to remodel this whole resort. Very old school with cards for the rooms and cards for the towels by the pool. Staff are not so friendly. Never got a good morning from any staff. The bartenders were the only nice ones there.

My me only trip was good other then the bed mattress was so dam hard my back hurt.. I Ask for a better mattress but yet they don’t give me any rooms. this wasn’t the room I paid for.. the bathroom needed a lot work…. The stuff was nice and the food was great..

If you're looking for something not to like, you'll probably find something at the Riu Cancun. It's not perfect. It has some blemishes and there is room for improvement but overall, we enjoyed our stay here. We thought it was a good value, with some decent food options, and a clean, safe environment. The pools and restaurants were nice but they could have used more staff serving drinks in both places. The rooms were a bit dated and lacked any real decor but they were generally quiet and clean. Staff was mostly attentive and friendly. Not much for kids to do here, but we didn't have any with us.

The stay was nice for an ask inclusive food could have been better at the restaurants located within the property. The facility had nightly entertainment for all ages. There were also onsite representatives for you to book your excrusions that was convenient! I would visit again.

My daughter’s boyfriend was targeted and was kicked off of the premises leaving us to go find another hotel nearby away from us late at night and would not refund us for the stay. The mattress was stained and gross!

The first thing I’d like to mention is that the pools close at 7 and so does the pool bar. There is not much to do at the resort after 7 other than to sit in the lobby with a drink. There are two outside bars (one being the pool bar that closes early). If you go to the other bar for a drink, they will not service you without a shirt on. This seemed silly as it is outside and right by the pool. The rooms do not come with comforters. There isn’t room service which typically isn’t a problem for me but the only food spot that stays open past 10 is the sports bar and the food is not good. Compared to other resorts I’ve stayed at, the service was lacking. I’ve been to Cancun three times and this was my first time getting food poisoning. (I would avoid the fresh cut fruit as I think that’s how I got it). This is not a kid friendly resort if you have little ones. Over all the stay was okay, but I wouldn’t go back. I will say that the beach and ocean view was beautiful!

Worst experience EVER!!! I’ve traveled a few times to Mexico and have never had such an unpleasant trip. It was 6 of us 3 adults 3 children the rooms barely have any AC no fan or AC in the bathrooms at all. It was super hot they tell you they will send you someone they never do. All restaurants after lunch close and coming back from excursions you only have the sports bar to grab something to eat which are sandwiches and burgers in a fridge COLD and you have to microwave yourself. No ROOM service you can not take food up to your room from the buffet they will take your plate off your hands. The drinks are horrible they all taste so bad we had to go out to get drinks. We paid cash a company inside the hotel by theater for transportation back to the airport driver never showed up the hotel said they weren’t responsible no body bothered helping or doing anything about it. I’ve never seen such a thing at the end the money you save YOU WILL SPEND in restaurants drinks transportation etc BOOK SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!

To have no AC in a $1600 room is not OK nothing about it was ok. We called , we emailed, we had the maintenance team stated they were coming and never came. 4 days of sleeping pure heat!!!!!! 1600 for two needs to be pushed together was the most uncomfortable condition when I made this purchase I specially put one bed. I called and emailed on several different occasions about transport was told to call finally got someone and they sent back in circles call hear email this and never had a ride 200 for a ride from the airport and back and 1600 for a room I have more to say so please believe I will get down to the bottom of how you bc an allow 1800 customer have these types of complaints

The property is old but renovated, walls are very thin. The restaurant food wasnt good, the buffet was the decent, however same food all week. All additional activities like jetskies, excursion prices were insane. The staff does their best, very clean rooms and property.
