Comfortable stay in lovely village
Really generous size rooms. Great location in the middle of the village but with the rooms set back from the road so nice and quiet. Great dog friendly pub with good food and selection of drinks

Shame about the carpet.
Everything was very nice, we had everything we needed. Not sure if room not used for a while as a few cobwebs about but main let down was the state of the carpet in the room. A few patches of spillage and I think a small amount of sick on the carpet. Carpet wash wouldn’t go a miss.

decent stay
had a good stay at the red Lion, the rooms were comfy with everything you need. If we were being being picky i think the cleaning could have been better. parking is ok and the pub is really nice in a village with a few pubs and restaurants.

we needed better info on the velux window system as the room was very warm in the evening ie unable to understand the wall mounted control having said that ,an enjoyable stay.

In need of a deep clean
Carpets and shower room would benefit from a deep clean and the cracks in the walls a fill and paint. Otherwise a decent room to stay in whilst visiting family.

Stayed for 3 nights, the room was pleasant, warm and quiet, I didn't eat in the pub itself as I felt the atmosphere a little unwelcoming, however they do offer a good range of real ales!

Excellent stay. Rooms well kept and very clean. Beds very comfortable.Staff were efficient. We really enjoyed our stay. Easy access to Cambridge and dog friendly. Could not fault . Hope to stay again

Smart and tidy room with polite staff
Very nice stay, really warm welcome from pub staff. Neat, tidy, fairly modern and well kept room. I arrived fairly late and was too tired to sit in the pub for a drink but I'd have really liked to sit and have a drink as it looked super interesting.

Nice pub stay in a nice village
The accommodation was really nice, large room with a large shower ensuite. The carpet had quite a few mark's on it but apart from that it was nice and clean. The pub is nice and there's plenty of places to eat in Histon. Please note the pub doesn't do breakfast, but there are a dew places to get breakfast. We would definitely stay again, it's a nice place and a quaint village.

Rooms are in a chalet-style separate building located next to the beer garden, adjacent to the pub parking. Space is limited, but we managed to get parked each day. There is street parking as an alternative. The Red Lion is a typical pub, with a wide selection of excellent ales and other drinks - all reasonably priced. Great pub food too. Service was excellent and friendly throughout. The rooms are spacious with ensuite, and did the job nicely. Being a modern build, noise does travel between the rooms a little, but it was nothing untoward. Lots of other cafes, pubs and restaurants, and a Tesco Express, within easy walking distance. Overall, we had an excellent stay - highly recommended.

When I arrived the room was absolutely freezing cold I report, I reported this to the reception staff and was advised that someone would be over soon to take a look, I am still waiting! The next morning I try to take a shower but only managed to get 30 seconds of hot water, which on winters morning was absolutely terrible.

Ridiculously unhelpful
Totally refused to wash up (or let me wash up) my babies bottles, and didn’t offer to help at all. I’ve never seen anything so ridiculous. Shame as would’ve been a good stay otherwise.

We did offer to wash them up for you which you declined. We couldn't have you in the kitchen area during Sunday food prep and the sink was already overflowing with washing up from morning prep items. The sinks in the toilets don't have plugs so the suggestion to go back to the room and do it was the sensible option. We also provided the washing up liquid for you.

Poor Customer Service - Avoid
I booked this room for business I had very close by. I would usually get a Premier Inn or something but this looked good. I knew I was going to arrive late due to lots of road closures. I called in advance but nobody answered my call and when I arrived I was unable to access the building or my room. I called and knocked but nobody answered. I had driven 150 miles and everywhere else was booked. I consider the customer experience extremely poor. Surely either answer your phones or if you have a booking maybe call the customer if they haven't arrived yet and arrange access to the room which was paid for.

Very friendly staff and costumers in the pub. A good selection of beers in the bar. They have an adult only bar and a family bar, all very clean and welcoming. A nice size beer garden too. The rooms were very clean and well stocked with tea/coffee and milk.
