The front desk staff were awesome. Michael gave me a nice tower room. The hotel is nice, and the spa is good but could use some renovation. Overall, it’s a good hotel with only minor improvements needed.

Good experience

Luxorious hotel not too far from the airport. Traffic noise does not bother. Expensivish food/beverage, but room prices compensates that very well. Hourly transport from hotel to airport a bonus.

We had a pleasant stay. Our concerns were met and staff were responsive. Loved the buffet. Felt comfortable.with the room except the noise level from the room next door was high with room service at 2 am, doors banging and could hear their conversations.

First time in Africa and visiting Cairo. I was able to arrange pickup from airport late into the evening and had a very nice drive from the airport to the hotel. As a female traveling alone, I felt safe and comfortable. The hotel was very nice and big with different types of people from around the world staying there. I will reserve a room in the future when I return to Cairo.

My birthday and retirement magical stay in Cario

We had an amazing time at this hotel! Our positive experience started wirh the pick-up at the airport with one of their employees who exceeded expectations by guiding us through the entire airport process and getting us to the hotel safely. Hotel staff were very pleasant, welcoming and accomodating. The hotel itself was very clean and provided a "home-like" atmosphere during our 2 week stay. Several staff and departments exceeded expectation to include the congierge/guest services with booking day trips/transportation, and the housekeeping staff who were extremely pleasant and helpful as was the Room Services staff! Room service was delicious and beautifully presented each time. Hotel staff were very gracious and the hotel property itself was safe and secure as we entered and left the property for excursions. There are not enough words to say how Awesome this staff was, they really made our overall experience and stay in Cairo great and safe!

The staff was very friendly and helpful. Cleaning occurred regularly. Restaurant selection was excellent. Security was excellent. Access to pool was excellent. The rooms were a bit dated and air con could have been slightly stronger. But beds were comfortable. Wifi signal not very strong. Overall this was well worth the money and I would definitely stay there again.

Very solid stay at the Sonesta

We enjoyed two nights at the Sonesta Hotel. Check-in and check-out were very easy. The hotel is in a good location to get to and from the airport. We had one meal at La Gondola restaurant inside the hotel. It was good and the prices were fair. We also ordered room service for breakfast once and for dinner once. The American breakfast was just ok. For dinner we ordered some chicken quesadillas, and chips with salsa & guacamole. Although not quite what we expected, it was very tasty. The prices for room service were fair. The room itself was nice and offered us lots of space to spread out. The only issue was with the door to the room; it was a bit difficult to close. The Wifi worked very well; we were able to stream a movie online with no issues and no delays.

Free shuttle service to (and from?) the airport.

Very professional service. Especially the fact that we arrived at 11:00 pm the night before a 7:00 am international flight. There was a 3:00 am wakeup call and the shuttle was waiting at 4:00 am. The fact that the airport shuttle was included for free as part of the room was a positive surprise. Note: Free airport shuttle service wasn't something we even knew about and should be more prominently advertised.

Last place I would come back too, seriously don't

We (3 of us) chose Sonesta as most Heliopolis n Nasr hotels happen to be full (even trying to book directly with 5 options) but was it a nitemare Internet: horrible n unstable (good luck if there for work n needing this) Room service n bfast: we tried once each n never did the remaining 6N there Rpom: walls are thin, i can hear neighbours snoring or their TV, size was OK Toilet: dark like a horror movie Service: this was Ok for me Location: close to airport (15 mins) but otherwise no mans land We were there for work, there were alot of tourists so business was good, but as individual guests (when season is lull) not worth at all If i was given another opportunity, wont come back w/o blinking the eyes

Be gentle with wake up calls

I asked for a wake up call for my room for the shuttle service and was yelled at a few times for being late. I was called with 10 min to spare. I woke up frazzled and ran downstairs only to find that it was just us on the bus. No sure why I needed to be rushed in that way. Otherwise service for checkin was nice and the room was clean and refreshing.
