"Check-in was quick and easy, with close-in self-parking and a more than adequate number of good, large luggage carts. We had a bit of a panic soon after moving in, as the shower valve broke and we had no shower. The staff and manager were very helpful in promptly letting us into an unused room down the hall to use the shower. Our shower was then promptly fixed the next day. Other than that, the room was just what we needed: lots of room for laydown, large fridge with freezer, ample drawer and counter space, large closet for hanging, lots of good dishes and tableware, and a very good micro-wave. Beyond that, all of the staff were friendly and helpful, and we felt like the stay was a good value for us. "

"The lady at the front desk during check in had this underlying judgemental tone toward me. Almost like she knew my type and didn't like me from the get go. This plaxe was Nasty. Noisy. Awful. I've stayed in every price range. From $65/night to thousands / night. This place was the worst. The cloth chair looked like dirty blue collar men had sat in it for the last 10 years. That's not a slight on blue collar men, I am one. But if I sat in a cloth chair after work every day, this chair is what it would look like. The bed had a very faint smell of vomit... The white paint in the tub was flaking off and showing the bright blue tub it used to be. Roaches. The curtains had what appeared to be cigarette burn holes in them. The mattress was uncomfortable. The pillows were flat. There were people upstairs and outside yelling and running ALL night long. The AC was impossible to set correctly it was either too cold or too hot. We tried to go to sleep about 10 to get up at 7. We got about 3 hours sleep. It was miserable. "

"At check-in we were told our room would be serviced every other day.. Ok. Stayed three nights, room never serviced. Called the front desk to and the person said they’d check with their manager about why the room wasn’t serviced. Who cares, just offer to bring towels. Had to ask for them, Shouldn’t there be training for this situation?? Definitely need the earplugs they put in the room if your room faces the bars. Downtown Gainesville can be loud and they party late. Also no waters in the room?? $5 in the lobby. The bar is good, so is the coffee in the lobby. The breakfast is meh. The staff was nice and helpful…except when we had a problem. We’ve stayed here before since we have a kid at UF, just wish we wanted to stay here again. "
