This hotel is on a hill overlooking the bay, and has fabulous views. The buildings and the landscaping are also very lovely. We stayed in a large room (#12) with a huge terrace overlooking the pool, with wide views of the bay behind. Beautiful. But the weird thing about this hotel is that it follows a “low cost” model on amenities. For the price we paid, plus the building and the landscaping and the view, we expected the amenities of a three-star hotel: small bottles of shampoo, bath gel, etc., a coffeemaker or teakettle in the room, a decent buffet breakfast (even if charged separately), etc. Instead, what we got was a cheap soap and shampoo dispenser mounted on the wall, a public toilet-style toilet paper dispenser, no coffeemaker or tea kettle, and a buffet breakfast with no hot food or even hard-boiled eggs (for the main dish they offer you a sandwich), plus possibly the worst button-machine coffee that I’ve ever had. The disconnect was stark. You’re in a luxurious-looking hotel but they’ve got budget-hotel amenities. We couldn’t enjoy a coffee or tea out on our terrace with that amazing view. We used our own products instead of the stuff in their dispensers (which was clearly selected for its price alone). And we only ate the buffet breakfast one day, because it simply wasn’t worth the price they charge for it. But if you don’t mind bringing all your own amenities, the views are incomparable.
