RIVERFRONT Retreat with HOT TUB on Nantahala River
RIVERFRONT RETREAT WITH HOT TUB ON THE NANTAHALA RIVER.
This home away from home is one of the few privately owned properties in the Nantahala Gorge just outside the National Forest. Our mountain retreat sleeps six guests comfortably with two bedrooms with a primary bathroom attached to the main bedroom and a guest bathroom. Outside HOT TUB. The kitchen and living room areas are open and spacious. It is like living in a tree house with a view of the river. If you are looking for the most unique location in one of the most beautiful river settings you will ever find, this place is for you.
Lots of things to do at our River House Retreat. Fish from the bank, watch the rafters and boaters float by. Enjoy the night sky and river at night by the fire pit and relax with a cool beverage by the river. If that is not enough excitement, how about a white water raft ride down the Nantahala River, and stop off at your own private retreat for a half way break or just relax on the covered porch and watch the river pass by. The property address is 14540 Highway 19 Bryson City NC.

The views from the porch, hot tub, and fire pit were incredible.. just what we were looking for. The house was in a perfect location and close to the NOC. We would definitely love to come back. And the host was very responsive ion any questions.
I loved everything about this stay. Could not have asked for a better location, communication, and vacation. Thank you James for everything. We will be back soon.
House is dated but its clean, beds were great. The hot tub kept losing water so it didn't want to stay hot unless people got in to get the water level high enough, my guess is because some of the jets would sometimes start shooting water out of the tub. The river and views were great. would loved to have used the fire pit but it was raining.
very nice view hottub was great theres good fishing right out back we enjoyed the firepit even saw a bald eagle it lit in a tree across the river also perfect for those who suffer with back pain we did cold plunge in the river water shoes are recomended the water level seems lower in the evening welll definately be back next year
Fantastic place for the river enthusiast and lovers of the great outdoors. House caters to those who love to sit and watch the river go by rain or shine. We enjoyed the outdoor space for hanging hammocks and playing corn hole. The host communicated promptly and addressed any issues. This was our third visit to this property and will not be our last
The house was just as it is advertised. Everything we needed to have a wonderful stay. We enjoyed this covered porch, hot tub, and fire pit. My husband and son fished before the dam released each morning. We saw an otter early one morning on the opposite bank. We rafted with the NOC, hiked the Deep Creek Trail, and floated on the Fingerlake. So much fun! Too short of a trip! We also ate at 4Queens Mexican Grill in Bryson City. It was delicious!!
We absolutely loved our stay on the river in this cabin, with the hot tub 20 ft from the river and the fire pit right on the river's edge. It is rustic outside, but comfortable inside, especially the king-sized bed. The reason for our visit to Bryson City was to ride the Great Smoky Mountain Railroad, and we had the added benefit of waving to the train as it passed by 4 times a day. We had a few challenges, in that there are no accommodations like grab bars in either bathroom. The stairs are sturdy to get up to the cabin, but there's a big step from the ground to the first platform, and nothing easy to grab onto. For many, it isn't a problem, I'm sure, but some consideration needs to be given with those who have a few limitations. We'd stay again, just for the location, but it's good to have the potential problems known when making a choice.
Great Location! The back porch and lower level on the Nantahala River were very fun. You could sit and watch rafts, duckies and kayaks go by all day. Check-in was very easy. Place need some upgrades. It was a blast back to 1980.
Fantastic location!! The porch and fire pit area are awesome. There are window a/c units in both bedrooms at opposite ends of the house. The living area was warm. Appliances are dated, but the location is outstanding . We loved having coffee in the mornings and a cocktail in the evenings on the porch or by the river.
This home away from home had absolutely everything we needed for an absolutely perfect Nantahala vacation. We particularly enjoyed the porch, fire pit, fully equipped kitchen, comfy beds, and being able to stop and have lunch at “ our house “ while paddling the Nantahala. We can’t wait to return.
Came into town to ride the polar express and make memories with the family and thought that i could do a little trout fishing from the bank while staying here. Unfortunately it rained and we didnt get the chance
Enjoyed the deck which was right on top of the river. Watched the kayakers and paddle boaters go by along with the GSMR train on the other side. House was very clean. Took me a minute to figure out the HDMI cable is shared between the Dish and DVD player. Might consider a small window shade in the bedroom with 2 queen beds. Owner was immediately responsive over text. Hope to go back again.
This location was a perfect location for meeting my son and friends that were hiking the AP trail. The house is just a few minutes from the NOC outdoor center where the AP crosses the Nantahala River. There are several car parking areas nearby to gain trail access for day hiking the AP trail. I was able to meet my son and friends several times at GAP parking lots within 1 hour driving time from this location. Great rafting and trout fishing nearby this location.
My family & I visited in Mid October for the weekend. We had booked the Nantahala Gorge Excursion for my birthday. We enjoyed sitting on the deck and drinking coffee in the morning while listening to the river. In the evenings, on the river bank, we sat around a cozy little fire after relaxing in the hot tub. The owner was very responsive and friendly. We had a great stay and will book again.
The house was nice. The hot tub was awesome. Couldn’t use the fire pit because there was nothing there to light it with. There was no outside lights on the stair side to see how to get in. Checked every light switch I could find but they didn’t work the outside floodlights. The ice maker in the refrigerator never made any ice. We was suppose to wash up the dishes we used but there was no dish soap had to go get some. Loved the location on the river it was great and so was the view. Enjoyed our stay even with the minor problems.
We had an awesome time exploring Bryson city and gazing at the beautiful Nantahala. The cabin is very clean and perfectly cozy. The views of the full moon over the river were breathtaking and the sun on the water in the morning was so peaceful. Would’ve liked having a dishwasher but we didn’t cook during our two night stay and used paper plates to keep the mess low. We also loved the really nice hot tub with views of the water. We will definitely be back.
