  • We welcome you to Over The Edge. Enjoy the peacefulness, seclusion and the best views on the mountain. First thing to catch your eye is the beautiful scenic view as you walk out on our deck. Enjoy your favorite drink and soak away the bustle of your busy life as you relax in the jacuzzi, watching the clouds roll in and out. It's not hard to figure out why we bought Over The Edge. You can be white water rafting in minutes! You're less than 2.5 miles from The Nantahala Outdoor Center, which offers white water rafting, kayaking and has other water activities for every skill level. Also included are several wonderful restaurants. Ten minutes down the road you’ll find some of the nations best mountain biking at Tsali recreation area. Close by is one of the most beautiful trails in the smoky mountains, an old section of the Appalachian Trail where kids can hunt salamanders and build rock dams in a pristine creek and the energetic can hike to the Wesser Bald fire tower for an astounding view.

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay- the views from the deck are amazing! The cabin is very secluded and quiet. The drive up to the cabin on the gravel road is a little rough but it’s worth the trip to get the view! The hot tub is nice at night to relax and enjoy the stars. Hope to visit again sometime!

Clean and cozy. Back deck has great views. Very quiet and secluded. However, only about 3 miles to NOC. Washer and dryer are a big plus for active families like us.

A great place!

It’s a nice little spot on the ridge, the views were amazing! Driveway is steep but not too bad if you have a low car it’ll be a bit bumpy. I’d definitely recommend staying here! Not to mention a great host!

Weekend getaway

Located right around the corner from everything to do in Cherokee. It was just perfect for everyone in the family. Nice a cozy up on the mountain with a beautiful view. Very peaceful on the porch drinking a cup of coffee watching the sunrise and set.

Great getaway

Cabin was exactly what we were looking for in a getaway stay. Very remote but safe nestled in the woods. We are big hikers and enjoyed all our hikes in the area including one on Flint Ridge trail where we actually encountered a bear. Will definitely be booking again in the future.

October Hiking Trip

The house was clean and comfortable. It is so quiet and peaceful there. The view from the deck is incredible! Sitting in the hot tube gazing at that sunset was the perfect way to end the day.

Amazing Views

The views from the deck are absolutely beautiful. And the drive up to the cabin is very pretty. The cabin itself, however, is very well used and in serious need of renovations: dirty and stained carpeting, cheap furniture that is falling apart, missing window screens, deck gate that needs to be replaced, etc.

Enjoyed

The place was exactly how it was pictured. We enjoyed our quiet and secluded weekend. The only downside was the condition of the hot tub, it was still very much usable and hot however is aging and needs attention. I would definitely stay again. It was close to activities and the area was nice.

John the host was very good at responding to any problems we had. There were things about the maintenance of the property I feel could need some attention. Location was just what we asked for. Overall a good stay.

The view!

My husband and I rented this cabin for a fall getaway in the mountains. It did not disappoint. The view was outstanding. Cabin was comfy and we were an hour or less from most places we planned to visit. Property owner was friendly and responsive to any questions we had. All in all, a great stay.

The property needs a lot of TLC and updating. It was very clean, but the siding, paint, and carpets need updating. There is no dishwasher and needed more towels and washcloths. The view is phenomenal and it is quiet!

Beautiful Cabin!

I cant say enough wonderful things about this property! The view was unbelievable- we sat and stared at the mountains every night. Lots of great hiking trails in Nantahala Park (both easy hikes and more advanced hikes). We had everything we needed. All we did was hike, and enjoy the mountainous view on the porch. John was a great host. Highly recommend this property!

Absolutely loved it!

Everything is great about this place! We loved staying in a more rural part of the Smoky Mountains where we could enjoy the beauty and the smaller-town atmosphere of Bryson City without all the traffic. The sunsets and hot tub were wonderful - as was the nearby Nantahala Outdoor Center. We did not want to leave, and hope to return soon! I recommend bringing an SUV or higher clearance vehicle as opposed to a sports car - it's easier to drive up the hill on the gravel road.
