Welcome to King's River Cabin, a beautifully appointed log home nestled along the scenic Oconaluftee River. This two-bedroom, two-bathroom retreat offers an idyllic setting just minutes from both Downtown Cherokee and Downtown Bryson City. King's River Cabin is the perfect getaway for outdoor enthusiasts, particularly anglers and nature lovers. Before you pack up the car and head for the mountains, know that when we say mountains, we really mean it!

Downtown Bryson City has an elevation of 1,752 feet, so think of this as a starting point. The majority of our cabins will have a higher elevation than this. This means that our roads- both state and private- will be steeper, narrower, and curvier than you may be use to driving. Also, you should expect to encounter gravel roads. Consider it part of our rural mountain charm!

If bringing or riding motorcycles, please call and ask for motorcycle friendly properties. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This VRBO experience was absolutely exceptional. The owners have clearly set this place up with dogs in mind! This is a very safe place to bring your pups for a vacation. The close proximity to the river is fantastic as well. We did not use the upper bedroom, but it is very beautiful. We plan to come back here.

Quaint Little Place

Enjoyed our stay after issue with check-in. Would have been nice to hear from property manager when I contacted emergency number for check-in information. Thank you to let friendly gentleman I got ahold of the next morning about mixup with rental agreement. Overall, it was nice to sit back and relax in the little cottage we rented. We got a little bit of fishing done in between the rain.

Kings River Cabin

My grandsons loved the place. Great location on the river about half way between Cherokee and Bryson City. The sleeping areas were as advertised. Had a hard time figuring some things out. Examples: how to get to upstairs bedroom; and how to use TV’s not in main room. A homeowner manual would have been nice. Some things didn’t work or were broken. Microwave in main kitchen did not work. Knob on oven was missing. Not the cleanest place I’ve stayed. Someone had burned plastic or something on stovetop. Whole place could stand a good cleaning. Heat worked great. TV in main room with cable worked good. Loved being on the river and having place to play in yard. Very accessible to restaurants in Cherokee or Bryson City.

Horrible check in

Upon checking in and driving approximately 4 hours, out cabin had no running water due to freezing temperatures. I was furious that property manager didn’t call prior to my arrival to inform me. Instead she tried downgrade our stay from a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom to a 2 bedroom 1 bathroom and we had no hot water the entire first night. Maintenance didn’t show up until approximately 9:30 next morning. We requested refund and checked out and found a much nicer cabin but it was difficult because we had chosen to bring our dogs because initial cabin was pet friendly. Will never use Yellow Rose realty again.

Not a great stay

Reviewer Comments: Strong odor of tobacco smoke when entering the cabin...had to let it air out quite awhile. Upstairs sink had dirty water in the basin. Shower liner needs to be longer to prevent floor from getting wet. Whiskey barrel table surface was extremely sticky. Upstairs tv remote did not work. No cutting board, need new cooking utensils, the two pans are insufficient, need more spatulas. The place was cozy and nice but odor, poor cleaning, and insufficient cookware really distracted from the experience.

Would Not Stay Again

Property was not clean. Smelled of wet dog inside. Screened porch is in need of rescreening- holes and screen falling allowing birds inside. Not enough cooking and eating utensils. Washer and dryer did not work properly. Some electrical outlets did not work. The grass was a foot high upon arriving and had to call to get it cut (which was taken care of promptly). The oven knob is missing - someone had moved one of the burner knobs over to it - so you didn't know what temp you were actually baking at. It says it will sleep 6 however I am not sure where 6 people would sit to eat. Cannot fit 4 inside. The picnic table outside has rotten boards for sitting. Pets allowed notification needs to be listed on the main page. Dog hair was everywhere and again I will mention the house smelled of wet dog. Access to the upstairs was not adequate to the living space. You must go outside and into the garage to access the upstairs. Maybe not very secure with the neighbor having a key to the garage. The road between the house and river is busy with locals coming to fish etc. This could be a very nice place if it was taken care of.

Serenity at it's b

This cabin was amazing. Close to Cherokee NC and Bryson City. Lots of fun things to do. It's right next to the river. The dam is a short walk up the dirt road. People tubing and kayaking down from the dam. Perfect for fishing and pets too. We even saw two beautiful breathe taking Elk. Priceless memories!!!

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The picture of the cabin is deceiving. This is NOT the whole space you are paying for. It is a "duplex" style set-up, and only the "bottom" right of the cabin was the space included. One bedroom/ One Bathroom. Luckily no one else was staying in the other part of the house/ cabin during our stay, so we at least had the place to ourselves. The space between neighboring properties is also deceiving. No "seclusion" at this cabin... There was no propane to use the fireplace, the grill worked, but was clearly on its last leg and the cabin was filled with cobwebs, both visible and hiding in the cabinets with the dishes. Make sure you wash what you plan to use first. Being directly on the river is what sold us, and glad we had the water feature to make up for the other disappointments.

Unique Charm

Reviewer Comments: We reserved thru VRBO and all communication prior to day of stay came through VRBO however final day check in info came thru the property MGMT company and went to my trash/spam file so I didn't get the check in info. Once I got into the cabin I only saw 1 bed and 1 bath so I had to call back into the emergency line to get directions on how to get to the other room and bathroom. You have to go thru the garage. I would have expected some welcome book to let you know but that wasn't the case. However after those few hiccups on day one the actual cabin was nice and the view to the river out front was beautiful. We had a great stay and enjoyed our time. Oh the heat situation in the upstairs was less than ideal so whoever stays up there should be one that likes it cooler in room if you go in winter.

Very disappointed!

The cabin was listed as two bedrooms but it was one bedroom with an apartment above the garage. This needs to be listed differently. A family with children would have been out of luck because the kids couldn’t stayed in the apartment by themselves. Not what we were looking for. We are 81 and 85 wanted to have a few days with our daughters but we were separated. The screened in porch had not been swept, spiderwebs hadn’t been swept down in cabin and dirty washcloth found hanging in both bathrooms. It hadn’t been dusted, my daughter wrote her name on the furniture. We were very disappointed.

Cabin on the river

Nice place,but the dryer was broken. Was told that they were going to send a technician out, but never did. There were very few channels on the TV to watch. Pay attention when booking, because I did not realize that there was no internet when we booked. Could use a few more supplies as far as trash bags and such and and appliances that were not old and actually worked.

The dam road house

DONT Use Yellow Rose Realty!

The home was falsely listed & images are ancient! Place was filthy & couldn't breath due to animal urine. It was not a home: it was 2 Apts in one house! Kids can't b separated from parents! & No closets to use. I wouldn't give it a high rank of Motel 6!! Realtor put us in another cabin further away-- a fisherman's cabin! It was an upgrade = to Days Inn quality. But no washer, dryer, or dishwasher. No Welcome basket nor any home instructions other than what realtor emailed me. Had to request pots & pans to cook with bc ones in cabin were pure trash! No yard for our dog bc dogs from neighborhood kept coming over pooping by our cabin! No curtains, just cheap blinds--some broken. We had to wear shoes inside bc floors were so filthy & it has nails sticking up to catch socks! Mouse droppings never cleaned up & "body oil" left in one of kids beds! No counters & u must b taller than 5'9 to reach the 2 kitchen cabinets & microwave. Stove under burners looks like it's never bn cleaned.TV fire hazard w over 4 cords plugged into cheap house extension cord-- it should b a surge protector. Picnic table outside unusable bc it's falling apart. Felt like bn in a sardine can compared to vacation rentals we are accustomed to. We're use to Hampton/Hilton quality homes so this experience was extremely disappointing! Oh, & Yellow Rose only refunded me a whole $67 for my inconvenience!! DONT Use them unless u prefer Motel 6 quality & disappointment from fakse listings!
