"We found our stay here very relaxing. I loved being outside of the busy city center while still being close enough to do everything my tourist heart desired. I would absolutely stay again!"

"I have been spending around 150 nights a year in hotels for many years. I rarely write reviews - saving them for when a place truly deserves it, for good, or bad reasons.
This one is good - in every way.
This - is an absolutely wonderful place - oozing high class character from every corner and pore. The care that has been taken to preserve large elements of buildings that are 500 years old - while mixing modern amenities and comforts with it all is exceptional. I honesty cannot imagine what it has cost to do - but all of it is money well spent.
My schedule did not work for eating dinner there in the evening - but the early breakfast - including plenty taken from their own garden - that I needed was accommodated in a wonderful way by the unceasingly helpful, friendly and just lovely Floraine (who did a great job also by phone and email of getting me organised remotely for my late arrival too). While praising the staff - I cannot leave out Elise either - who was still around to accommodate my late arrival and show me to my room and give me a small tour of the substantial communal areas (good job too - I might not have bothered with a torch and ending up taking an unplanned bath in the duckpond).
The location and the place itself are great - the staff are the icing on a cake that was exceptional in the first place.
Only (very minor) downside is the limited hours that reception is manned - but Floraine and Elise went out of their way to make sure that would not be a problem"
"There is nothing not to like about this clean, stylishly designed and comfortable hotel with a very good attached restaurant. I would stay again without hesitation. Good value for money too."
"Rooms clean and good size. Hard to find the hotel. Decor is creepy and uninviting. No kettle in rooms despite cups supplied. Shower in bath dangerous. Bistro downstairs very expensive with very limited options to eat in the area"
