"Positive aspects first. The receptionists go above and beyond. At any time of the day. All the staff I’ve encountered are definitely jewels of this property. They even helped me retrieve my purse, left behind in the room after I had left the hotel. Also had a nice touch for my better half’s birthday, leaving in the room a warm note signed by many employees, as well as a few treats. The location is great, parking is plenty of available, despite the hotel being quite crowded. Now let’s move onto the negative. The sauna was out of order. The biggest issue is that breakfast is served until 10. We arrived at 9:35 AM and there was nothing left on the savoury side, nor juice nor pastries. While the female staff was trying to make everybody’s meal as nice as possible, she couldn’t cope with this issue. When I asked another employee, a younger gentleman, I was dismissed rudely when I inquired why there was nothing left, he said “that’s the way it is at this time of day.” Myself, as well as a gentleman from a table nearby, went to inquire at reception why there was no food left. Reception went to the kitchens, and they did come back about 10 minutes later with juice and a few pastries. However, nothing savory, and of course, even the pastries weren’t enough to feed all the guests. I did inquire later with the reception what happened and they explained they had received about 30 to 40 last minute reservations for the weekend and unfortunately, the food orders weren’t made to accommodat"

"The Waldorf is situated in a beautiful historic building. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. We ordered in room dining and it was fine. We also had breakfast and it was great. They seem to be a bit short on staff as every time we needed anything, the only staff member at reception was busy with another guest and wait time was quite long. Also, they gave us a bottle of wine which is a nice gesture but the wine was quite horrible. In a 5 star hotel, guests usually know a bit about wine."
