Hi Serge We are happy you enjoyed the view, our biggest asset bar none. We are of course disappointed your stay overall was not good, but it would have been nice to hear about the lodge itself and the service as opposed to something we cannot control, like the ocean or the weather. We also would have been happy to move you somewhere a bit further from the ocean where the waves crashing are not that loud if you had mentioned something to us about it. Some people enjoy it, so we don't know unless it is mentioned. Our environment is the ocean. We are on what is primarily a surf beach, and thus conditions vary greatly depending on if there is swell or not. Today for example, the sea is nearly flat and very quiet and you would have loved it. Sorry timing worked against us.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. We always appreciate candid feedback. Our off the grid location means we need to minimize electricity use and unfortunately means we can have high power fans. On most days, the little fans provide sufficient cooling by the head, but there are probably 10 to 15 days throughout the year when it does get very hot. We are hoping new technologies will mean manufacturing more energy but more powerful fans. On the card charge, as you can imagine between the booking company and the bank credit card charge it does add up quickly and we do try to save our guests and us whenever we can. Any business costs gets passed on to the consumer. We try to maintain our prices low, and only charge extra when we are charged extra. Thanks for staying with us and appreciating everything else :)

Hello Mason, we are very sorry this is all you have to say about us.Considering that since you stayed for an extended time with us last year,and you knew exactly the kind of place we are,you yet chose to stay with us again for 3 weeks,during which you did not once voice any concern.Concerns we would have been happy to address,even if you wanted to go stay elsewhere and cancel part of your stay.I also wanted to remind you that during your last stay with us,you chose to extend your stay,and since we were full we made available to you a room we normally reserve for staff. You had, in essence, experienced the least plush room we have to offer. We find your review a bit of a backlash at having had to remind you 4 times that you had left without paying the balance of your stay and your breakfasts. So the timing of your review in regards to these reminders seem a bit odd. You state that the food "sucks" when you only had pancakes, and you had them everyday. We did not charge for all the extra pancakes you had and sometimes we even gave you more than 4 just as a courtesy. Bugs are around,as part of the tropical rainforest ecosystem we are happy to share; many guests have chosen us for the proximity to sea and forests. We send a reminder to everyone that we are a rustic facility open to nature. In terms of guests kitchen,it is there as a convenience for guests.We clean it twice per day,but its state at the end of the cooking hours are a reflection on how people leave it.As an ECO lodge,we will not spray daily poisons which will find their way up the foodchain and into both ground water and ocean. You stay with us because of our proximity to great surf spots and the decent prices,which is why we get a lot of return surfer guests.We are not a luxurious or fancy facility,don´t claim to be, and you knew that which is why we are baffled by your comments.
