There are some amazing walks nearby, including a circuit to Vintgar Gorge, which is within easy striding distance of the doorstep.

The Alpine Retreat is both our second home and a professionally managed holiday rental apartment. For you this means that you can expect to find everything you need for a comfortable stay with the reassurance that help is close at hand should the need arise.
Although there are bus and train services from the village the use of a car, to explore the area's wonders, is recommended.
This house is in a quiet village setting and is therefore not suitable for noisy groups. It is best for families or respectful adults who enjoy forest and hillside walls from the doorstep, wild swimming in the nearby lakes, or simply relaxing in the garden and taking in the magnificent mountain backdrop. Zasip is a active dairy farming village, some guest may not be used to country aromas.

We so enjoyed our time staying here. The house is so lovely and spacious and in a wonderful rural location with amazing views!
We loved the welcome gifts and supplies of basic things. Our teenage boys had a great time using the pool table and there were so many games and dvds on offer!
It really felt like a home. Some reviewers have commented about farm smells but it is a farmhouse within a farming community so this is completely understandable. You will also hear the church bells from the beautiful church next door but neither of these things would put us off returning. It is a perfect base for exploring Slovenia with a car and you can walk into Bled in about 30 mins.
Stuart was a great host, providing lots of information and promptly answered any questions we had. We hope to return in the future!
The house was in a fantastic location and had everything we needed. The only downside we felt was that the outside space was separated from the main living space. The balcony was only accessible from the ground floor (1st floor) bathroom, and the outside space was only accessible from the basement when the main living space was on the ground floor (1st floor). The outside space was also limited in size. Other than that, we had a fabulous two weeks staying here.
The property was located directly across the street from the barn, which was, unfortunately experiencing VERY strong odor.(liquid manure?) I grew up on a dairy farm and this was something out of the ordinary.

Nice house with a mouse
We stayed a few days in Stuarts house. It is located in Zasip, which is very close to Bled. Before we arrived Stuart gave us a lot of information about the area und the house, which was perfect.
When we arrived the house smelt a little, but after opening the windows it was ok. The bathroom on the ground floor was a little older, but the one on the first floor was new and modern. The bedrooms were ok. We didn't have any problems with the cows next door or the church bell. But unfortunately we did have a problem with a mouse, which we found in the kitchen on the fridge between our groceries. For us this was a no-go!
Riante ligging, mooie wandelingen in de nabijheid.
Woning goed uitgerust.
The quiet offered by this property and the peacefulness of the neighbors was welcomed. We appreciated looking at the castle on the hill at night and were even treated to snow-capped mountains one morning.
Traditional village house, simply decorated, comfortably furnished and extremely well equipped, good shower, comfortable beds and good bedding etc. Lovely views. In peaceful village of Zasip, away from the tourist throngs in Bled. We enjoyed sitting on the balcony, the good village restaurant, and great walks from the door. Stuart was a great host. House information and recommends all very thorough, so all went very smoothly. Highly recommended as a base for a holiday in the area, which has so much to do we felt we barely scratched the surface - so we'd love to come back.
Great family house not far from the touristic village Bled
Really nice and well maintained and clean house, good located, just a few minutes drive from Bled, nostalgic just besides an old church. The kitchen was well equiped, the beds were very good, nice modern bathroom, the Wifi was very good. Next door there was a really nice old woman, who waved us every day "a good day". The balcony was nice but small, the garden was a good place to be outside, but only accessible by walking around the house. The contact with the owner was very good. He gave us a lot of practical information about the area, several walking tours, restaurants etc.
We would like to recommand this house to everyone.
The property had everything we needed and kept reasonably cool when the outside temperatures were hot. The balcony was especially nice for breakfast with a view of the village and Bled castle in the distance.
The location is also perfect if you have a car. Centrally placed for Lakes Bled and Bohinj, not far from the Vrsic Pass and Triglev National Park, and also plenty of great scenery and walking close to the property. Local food also very good.

Amazing Place to Stay
I spent a few days here visiting friends and have to say it was perfect! The house is so big, there's so much space - it's fantastic. The kitchen was well stocked and the study area with Dvds and books as well as the games selection was a great little touch. Would definitely stay here again!
