Salmon River Country Inn

"The Salmon River Country Inn is located on the water, just off the road (road noise was not an issue at all), and has its own restaurant on site where you have breakfast and can get dinner. Indeed, we had dinner overlooking the bay at sunset, watching a sea otter hunt: very picturesque. Staff is friendly and helpful, breakfast is typical continental with a German leaning (the dinner menu is seafood and German). The only real downside is the rooms are on the small side, but you can sit downstairs to work and such. Overall it was a nice place to stay a couple nights exploring the coast."

"This is relatively simple (basic) property in a very quiet, fairly remote location, away from the hustle and bustle of most vacationers. This is what we search for, so we enjoyed its value for quiet reflection, with a variety of hikes and beach experiences within a reasonable daily driving distance. The owner (in southern New England) and local host assistants were attentive and have done a remarkable job of outfitting it with customer-oriented necessities (e.g, kitchenware, sandals and other gear), and niceties (e.g., indoor table games and puzzles, all complete). A superb retreat, to which we hope to one day return."

"Beautiful waterfront cottage 50 minutes outside of Halifax. Stunning views and perfect sunsets. On clear nights the stars are spectacular. Very clean and well decorated/furnished cottage. Perfect for a weekend getaway."

"We spent one night here at this beautiful location. We enjoyed the hot tub and lovely lake front property. The room was quiet (although this could be different if the additional guests were noisier; we did hear conversations in the morning). The room and common areas were very clean. The communal kitchen and living room were well appointed. Self serve breakfast with numerous choices. Bed and bed linens were very comfy. Close to Martinique Beach at the end of the peninsula where we saw a beautiful sunset. This is a self check-in location and we appreciated that convenience. Staff was available if needed but everything was clearly outlined in our handbook and messages prior to check-in. We would stay here again if we were in the area."
