"Everything was very good, the front desk, the servers, but then it fell short. There were seaman stains on the bed post that I asked them clean. The housekeepers told the front desk they did clean it and our room. They did not, so the manager went to check and sure enough, the room still had the seaman stain on the headboard and nothing but the garbage was dumped. Nothing was touched. So we had to leave the room so housekeeping could finally get the job done"

"This hotel provides a clean, quiet room, with good beds, linens, and pillows - that's the most important thing. Microwave and fridge in room is nice. Breakfast was decent including waffles, microwave breakfast sandwiches, cereal, toast, bagels, fruit, yogurt, and oatmeal. Front desk was friendly and helpful. But the property is quirky. It's an older building - the floors are slightly uneven, and one of the tiles in the entryway to our room was cracked. The building is built into the side of a hill. There's no elevator. The front desk / lobby is tiny. You have to navigate steps down from the parking lot into the property. The pool was cold and showing its age. But we got a good night sleep, enjoyed the TV in our room, and then were on our way to visit Spirit Mountain Adventure Park the next morning, which was only a few minutes away. So it did the trick. In general, in the future, I would avoid Duluth entirely - it seems like the hotels are extremely expensive in this area for no reason."

"A quaint old motel. Room was small as expected in an old property. But newer furnishings and comfortable bed. Nice deck with seating out the back door of the room. Perfect for eating our dinner and enjoying a beer. There were fire pits available but we did not use one. There was a nice walking trail just behind the property and we were able to walk to a nearby waterfall."
