This place is so perfect in every way. We like being in the woods but minutes from town. This place is clean, well maintained, well equipped, Mike is very responsive if you need to reach him, and there are a number of other homes on sight. He has 25 acres and five houses to choose from. Hiking trails, walking paths and beautiful views. We have already committed to coming back next September. The Black Mountain area is a real pleasure with culinary variety. Close to several major state and federal hiking trails. This is a must do for your vacation.
Our stay in Black Mountain was amazimg! The views were absolutely stunning, and the cabin was cozy and peaceful! We had plenty of space to move around and have individual space. The road to the cabin makes you feel like you are truly in the mountains! I will definitely be staying again, hopefully in a cooler month!
Perfectly located minutes away from Asheville but far enough away to get a real cabin in the woods. Mike’s a great guy and we had an amazing time relaxing after long days of recreation.
Fantastic location not far from town but deep enough on a mountain side with a great view for total peace and quiet. Hot tub under the stars was the highlight. Clean and comfortable, it was great!
The property and cabin were perfect for our family of 5 to relax and get away from our busy life. This cabin was the most well appointed cabin we have ever stayed in the U.S. Very highly recommend.
Everything about the cabin was classy. It came stocked with all the essentials, had a view to die for of Mt Mitchell, was spotless, and had more than enough space for all five of us. If I make it back to the area I would same at the same cabin without hesitation.
Good proximity to Asheville and Black Mtn. Beds were comfy and we always had hot water. 2 living areas helps when you are a group of 5 or 6. Great vistas.
We thoroughly enjoyed our week at the cabin. All was in great working order throughout our stay. We especially liked our private mountain top surroundings while still being so close to Black Mountain and its restaurants. And as always we made a few trips into Asheville to our favorite spots (easy interstate under an hour).
Cabin was exactly as described. Quiet neighborhood with plenty to do. Close to Black Mountain and a short drive to Asheville. My kids loved exploring the mountain side and i loved the peace and quiet. I would definitely come back again. The host was quick to respond and everything was what we expected.
This cabin was a great place for us to stay and enjoy the greater Black Mountain/Asheville area. It was clean, relaxing, nicely furnished, well equiped with supplies, and had excellent amenities. We loved the views and being immersed in nature. Water out of the tap was really good. The location feels remote and roads were a little adventure, but we had no problems getting in and out, and it's not too far from the things we wanted to see and do and occasional stops at the big nearby grocery store (Ingels). Thanks so much for making this place available for a trip that we've had on our bucket list for a while now! We hope to be back!
We had a wonderful time for our summer vacation. Mitchell View was perfect for our two families (4 adults & 3 kids). We spent most of our time outside, but kids loved the air hockey table as well. Hot tub and fire pit were also used and well stocked. Kitchen is well stocked with cooking items. Grill was also easy to use. Black Mountain is such a great location with close hiking and biking nearby. We met Mike on one of our evening walks. So friendly and knowable about the area. Would absolutely come back here for another vacation.
Cabin views are some of the best I have seen. We enjoyed the hot tub on the deck. The bedding was musty smelling on the sofa sleeper and felt damp. The beds were VERY firm as were the pillows. The staircases are pie shaped steps at the turns which made hauling suitcases up and down a bit of a challenge. Be prepared for an interesting drive to the cabin. Hairpin turns, which is typical in the mountains, turn into unpaved narrow roads that are quite rough in places. We were in a van and made it but had some traction issues in a few places. You also need to know you will be asked to wash all the towels before leaving. There were six women on our trip, which a lot of towels used between showers, hair and hot tub. We spent several hours doing 3 loads of towels and didn't get the last load dried before we had to leave for Charlotte airport. There was a not a cookie sheet for baking pizzas but the kitchen was fairly well stocked. Check in was seamless with the lock box. Mike was easy to connect with and always helpful.
We had such a wonderful time staying at Mitchell view. This was our first trip into the Blue Ridge Mountains, but it certainly won’t be our last! I would stay here again, in a heartbeat. Not only was the house, beautiful and cozy at the same time, but it was well equipped. Our children had a great time playing with the air hockey table, and we all enjoyed the hot tub with amazing views! We ended up needing to contact the owner because our car died while we were there. He couldn’t have been more responsive or helpful. I would recommend this property to anyone!
Perfect cabin atop a mountain with amazing views. We celebrated Christmas there and the owner even put up a real Christmas tree and nice decorations throughout the cabin. The owner supplied us with ample fire wood for the wood burning fireplace that was used every day which added to the coziness and Christmas feel. The hot tub was perfected positioned to enjoy the mountain views. We walked the trails around the neighborhood and learned to play bumper pool in the game room as well as late night poker. All the conveniences of home are present as we made Beef Wellington from scratch for Christmas and other dishes were easily prepared within the kitchen using crockpot and other appliances. As the owner lists, the drive up is very doable in a 2 wheel drive but could be challenging if there is snow on the ground.
This was our first VRBO in more than a decade, and it truly won us over. It was First-Class in every aspect—
1) IMPECCABLE cleanliness (inside AND outside!), 2) Well-stocked, Kitchen: for daily cooking-tools & spices/accessories; Comfort: linens, blankets, towels, and ALL “starter” needs—very, very thoughtfully done.
3) Elegant tasteful and comfortable decor/beds—no clutter,
4) Excellent Host: very responsive and kind, helpful. We had an absolutely great visit! This cabin has gorgeous views, privacy, comfort, tranquility, and a nice layout for having adult guests with separate quarters. Highly recommend and will definitely return. We enjoyed the town, and nearby Montreat, and several hikes all within 15-20minutes. Convenient shopping & restaurants, even though we didn’t need them, The area has so much natural beauty. Thanks, Mike, for such a special place—a real standout!
This cabin and property are amazing for those looking for a secluded, quiet getaway in the mountains. We saw wildlife, my kids enjoyed playing in the on-property creek just a short walk away, the hot tub was perfect and the cabin was extremely comfortable for our family and dog. Black Mountain and the grocery store is nearby, but the cabin is away from the hustle and bustle. Mike was a great communicator and responsive. Thanks for a wonderful week.
