We had a wonderful stay! Great location - Black Mountain is a fun little town. House was clean and kitchen was well equipped. Plenty of space for our family of 6. Spent many nights out on the deck. Beautiful scenery.
Home is also close to hiking trails and Asheville.
Really enjoyed our time in Black Mountain and our stay at the Treehouse. House was exactly as described in listing, we found it to be very convenient and comfortable for our family of 6. Would definitely stay here again if back in Black Mountain area. Thanks!
The Black Mountain Treehouse is a fantastic property in a quiet, wooded neighborhood just outside of Black Mountain town center. The house is modern, well-equipped, and provided mountain views through the surrounding trees. It is close enough to enjoy the great restaurants and shops in Black Mountain on a daily basis. It is also a short drive to many hikes, waterfalls, and Asheville attractions.
House was well supplied and comfortable for the 6 of us. One bedroom was described as having twin beds in fact had a queen. That was a bit of an issue for the two children in our group.
Great location within 5 minutes to downtown Black Mountain
Convenient to downtown but a quiet area. Enjoyed the deck each evening with a nice fire and the morning with coffee. Furnishings and towels could be updated. It was nice having a burning fireplace inside as well. We saw a few black bears outside the cabin one night from the deck which was cool. Enjoyed several of the dining options in downtown
Spent a week here, close to Black Mountain and Asheville with plenty of amazing food and shopping opportunities. Home was well maintained, very clean, and all that I needed for rest and studying. GPS was accurate, but it is a little tricky the first time getting there. Secure and lovely back deck, great for small children (we don’t have any little ones any longer). They provided a few supplies and coffee.
We were visiting our friend on Black Mountain and this house is literally her next door neighbor so the location was perfect. The house was lovely and well-stocked, very comfortable. I loved taking a book and a mug of tea to the two deck areas and enjoying the horizon. My only suggestion would be to add curtains to the square windows in the upstairs bedrooms (we had to use sleep masks), and consider adding a king bed to one of the rooms (personal preference, we are used to a king bed so we actually ended up sleeping separately in order to stretch out). But, we were happy with the stay and would consider renting it again if we come back to the area.
This property was perfect for our needs. We spent the day hiking so just needed a place to come home to at night. Very clean, modern. Nice kitchen. Good location. Two comments. We couldn't get the tv to accept
the wifi password and there are confling directions for trash removal. wi
This was our second time staying at the Treehouse and it was wonderful. We stayed over the Christmas holiday. The house is easy to get to, Black Mountain is an awesome town, and the house is the perfect size for four adults and a child. My Mom loves the wrap around windows in the kitchen. My Dad loves the chiminea. There was some local coffee waiting for us when we arrived. It was delicious. We saw a bear the first time we were here did not see him this time. I would highly recommend for anybody looking to stay in the Black Mountain area.
This house was just right for the four of us. The double fireplace in the kitchen was great as well as the large windows with beautiful views. It is pet friendly with a gate at the living room and the full deck for pets to run in. Large spice collection was a plus when cooking. Black Mountain is a fun little town within ten minutes of the house.
If we could find any negatives, they are minor. Main floor shower could use additional cleaning or caulking and the towels were pretty rough.
Would consider booking again in the spring or fall.
This place has a great view with a cozy vibe. Overall we were very happy. The kitchen has large panoramic windows with a fun tree house vibe.
There were 2 things that were not great.
The master bed was missing a slat and when I laid down it tipped the feet of the bed up in the air. I was able locate the missing slat and replace it. But I was not a fan of needing to crawl under the bed to do this.
The other thing was the couches are not great for lounging. Maybe comfortable for some but not for me.
Other than that great place!!!
We had to travel to Black Mountain for work but wanted a location that was not just a hotel as we needed to stay 10 days and wanted to feel more “at home”. This property worked great! Plenty of space, beautiful scenery, well-equipped kitchen, and close to where we needed to be. Will definitely look at this property again if we need to come back to Black Mountain/Montreat.
The house is spacious and nicely arranged. The houses in this neighborhood are far apart, and you really do feel like you're in a treehouse. The two level deck is a neat touch. We really enjoyed our week here.
We loved everything. Location was great! Wished the outside area was screened in as we couldn’t enjoy it at all due to the bugs and rain. Other than that we really enjoyed our stay!
Everything was perfect. The kitchen was fully equipped. Was a great family get away. Plenty of room for 6 of us 2 baby’s and a dog. We went to visit family but would be great as stand alone vacation. We went hiking around Montreat Thursday morning…beautiful!
Kelly at Cottonwood Properties was extremely pleasant and easy to work with, answering numerous questions and making our stay comfortable. The house's open floor plan was extremely comfortable for three adults and two dogs. The kitchen was well supplied for cooking, beds were comfortable, and the property was quiet for a relaxing weekend. We enjoyed exploring downtown Black Mountain, and eating at Sake Sushi. I'd recommend this property, and hope to return there ourselves.
My family and I stayed the weekend at The Black Mountain Treehouse and loved every minute! The home was just as described in VRBO. The inside was very clean and even had local coffee on the counter and local beers in the fridge waiting for us when we arrived. The two decks were very nice and we enjoyed speding time outside just laying around. The house is just minutes from Black Mountain and we spent lots of time hanging out in that awesome town visting breweries and local shops. We even saw a bear right outside the house on our last day! I highly recommed The Treehouse and can't wait to get back.
The house was absolutely lovely yet we were surprised to find the smell of mold downstairs. Luckily one of us could not come so no one slept in the downstairs room. We wanted to make this our annual mountain place…sadly we will have to look for another one!
