A true oasis in the old quarter of Bilbao in Artekale Street, an area known as the Seven Streets, lined with bars and restaurants with the best of Basque cuisine and full of antique shops and museums.

It is impossible to come to Bilbao without visiting its Old Town, which dates back to medieval times. The house is located next to the Cathedral of Bilbao and the Mercado de la Ribera.

Beautiful apartment

Great location in old town. Very noisy as it is in the alley with a bar that has people spilling into the alley until the wee hours. Apartment is lovely. All amenities available.

Our host was very helpful with tips for Bilbao. Tea, coffee, toiletries available in the apartment. Clean, comfortable beds, fans in every room. Even though its in the very centre of old town, the surroundings were very quiet in the night.

Mixed Experience

We had a mixed experience. We stayed in Casco Viejo since I was doing a class in the area, so the location was good in that sense. The apartment was clean and the price was good.Check in was a little confusing since the link I was sent didn’t work. It took me some time to figure out they were sending me messages on What’s Ap, which I don’t usually check. But we got it done, and the woman who came over to get us set up was nice.The two big problems were: The hot water heater was malfunctioning multiple times a day, resulting in no hot water and no heat in the apartment. We had to fiddle with this and put a jug under it because so much water leaked out into the cabinets below! This was obviously going on for a while as we were directed to a youtube video that showed how to get the hot water heater going again! They said a new one had been ordered, but I recommend making sure this has been replaced before booking.The apt is across from a bar that was pretty loud most nights. The noise wasn’t bad in the master bedroom once the bathroom door was closed and using earplugs, but was a problem for my friend trying to sleep in the other bedroom. Probably ok if you’re all planning on staying up late but could be an issue if you have kids to put to sleep.

Best VRBO Ever

Very clean and comfortable as listed. Elevator to apartment for carrying luggage. Well equipped kitchen. Great location in the old city near tram, metro and taxi stops. The river is nearby too. The old city has real charm and character with all pedestrian streets, sidewalk cafes and plazas. When we return to Bilbao we will stay here.

Die Lage war hervorragend und obwohl mitten in der Altstadt, in der Nacht sehr ruhig. In unmittelbarer Nähe hatte es tolle Restaurants und Cafés sowie div. Sehenswürdigkeiten in guter Gehdistanz oder mit dem Tram leicht erreichbar. Die Kommunikation mit den Besitzern war sehr gut, unkompliziert und hilfsbereit. Die Wohnung war schön und gemütlich, einzig etwas kalt und das Lavabo im Bad hatte ein Leck, weshalb es immer wieder zu kleinen Überschwemmungen kam.
