"I had a very disappointing experience during my stay at Monterey Beach Hotel. I was initially assigned room 118, which was saturated with cigarette smoke. The odor was overwhelming and completely unacceptable, especially for a non-smoking property. After requesting a change, I was moved to room 126, which unfortunately was located next to a generator. The noise from the generator ran throughout the night and made it nearly impossible to sleep. As a result, I did not get any rest and left feeling exhausted and frustrated. A good night’s sleep is a basic expectation when staying at a hotel, and this experience fell far short. To make matters worse, the only compensation offered was a $50 parking fee waiver, which does not reflect the inconvenience and discomfort I experienced. Overall, this stay did not meet expectations, and I hope the hotel takes steps to address both the room conditions and how guest concerns are handled in the future"

"Room 103 is a cannery row room but also oceanside balcony. So if looking for a ocean view cheaper, ask for that room. "

"Lobby is fine and has a nice 70’s retro vibe to it but the rooms were terrible, smell and not a $4-500 a night value. Won’t be coming back. "

"Comfortable stay! walkable distance to all major attractions and restaurants. right next to the boardwalk and a beautiful coastal trail. we didn't use our car in Monterey. the staff is polite and extremely helpful. the room was quite spacious and clean with all the basics like coffee machine, fridge, storage. the rooms even had a small balcony. the only drawback was the small pool and jacuzzi which was crowded by kids. they have a huge dining area and two restaurants on property though we didn't try. would recommend. "
