Independent in Berlin

"Generally happy with my stay, breakfast was great, the room was clean, quiet, and the shower lovely (although a bit slippery), but after a long day out sightseeing, I wanted to watch some TV, no subtitles in English and reception of TV channels was not great. The gym is large, and they could do with more equipment in there, but it was just enough for me for the 4 days I was there. Overall, a good place to base our 4 days of sightseeing in Berlin, which I really liked, felt safe and was a great break, so much better than London."

"Everything was near perfect, location, comfort and cleanliness. The day clerk, dark haired woman just stared at me when i came in and said ‘Hallo’ to her twice, she never responded nor smiled and when i checked out, all she said was ‘ok’. So that is the only negative. It would have been a near perfect experience if a friendly atmosphere was established during check in and check out. Everything else was wonderful."

"Was asked to pay 15 euros to use the sauna (the pool and gym were apparently ‘complimentary’). Since when does an expensive hotel charge me for part of the fitness center?! A shameless cash grab."
