The front desk was very friendly and the room was very nice! The only thing was that we were unaware the the motor Inn portion is not on Lake Ontario...I was a little disappointed in that.

The Motel is nice, we had many problems getting into our room as the door was locked and key did not work. It was hard to find the room and you were on your own getting there. There could have been coffee in the common area? The restaurant is amazing with wonderful food staff and seating.

Pleasant long weekend get-away

We enjoyed our stay at the Drake Devonshire and Motor Inn. Friendly and efficient staff at the Inn and restaurant made the stay pleasant. The room was clean and comfortable, nice amenities including a tablet to help search for things to do in and around the county. WiFi was available and worked, but a bit slow. WiFi being important since the cellular signals in the area was weak. We enjoyed breakfast (twice) and dinner at the inn. Quality, taste and presentation of the meals were excellent. As we drove over 360km in an Electric Vehicle (EV), the availability of EV charging stations was important. Use was on a first come first serve basis, which worked fine for us, however, one of the two EV charging stations was out of service, potentially making this a challenge if many visitors were at the Inn with EVs. The Inn is well located in Wellington, very close to a grocery store, sandwich, coffee and ice cream shops as well as some art and antique shops in the area. Overall a very positive experience.

Stayed at the motor inn and it was exceptional! Location is excellent (a two minute walk to the lake, beside a brewery with great food and two great cafes, plus a number of other restaurants), the property and rooms are well decorated and beautiful, and the staff is so welcoming and accommodating. Will be back!!

The room itself was really modern, large and clean. We stayed in the flat. Very nice. However, when I booked the room, I didn’t realize that this room was not located in the Drake Devonshire property. It’s actually up the street. Not waterfront. That’s on me for not researching thoroughly, I guess. We had dinner at the restaurant and it was a lovely setting and the food and drinks were very good. The service was excellent also. All in all, we enjoyed our stay.

A picturesque and peaceful location on the shores of Lake Ontario. There was ample parking on site with a small stream passing under a walkway to the sauna close by. Our room was charming and comfortable with a walkout balcony and seating facing west, overlooking the stream and lake. A perfect place to view the sunset while having a relaxing discussion of the day's activities and a glass of wine. Several indoor and outdoor activities were available, including a ping pong table and a table hockey game, beside a comfortable sitting room with a warm fireplace. The restaurant was spacious with spectacular views of the beach and extensive Lake Ontario. The service was friendly and the food was excellent. Our visit was too brief, however, we left completely rejuvenated, pleased with our stay, and looking forward to returning later in the year.

Wonderful

We stayed one night while attending a wedding at the Drake Devonshire (which we’ve also stayed at a few times and love!). We wanted to try out the Motor Inn this time and it was fab. Our only regret was that we barely spent any time in the awesome room during our stay. Bed was super comfy, room was clean and we will definitely be back

We enjoyed our night at the Drake Devonshire, front desk was very welcoming (as was the parking attendant). Wait staff in the bar/restaurant was great! very nice! We stayed in the very first room on the main floor at the entrance, which I'm assuming is part of the old house - it was nicely renovated and large enough for us. Only downside to that room is that its right at the front entrance so often people/kids were coming in and out and you could hear them just outside our door - very busy spot. The landscaping was beautiful, lakeside was nice! We would def go back!

Will not be coming back. The food and restaurant staff were good, and the room was nice with a comfortable bed. However, the room was beside part of the kitchen. It was extremely loud with slamming doors until almost midnight, and started up again both Saturday and Sunday mornings at 4:45am. We did advise staff and they said they could clear the area, they certainly didn’t seem surprised by the complaint so I suspect this isn’t a unique issue. They did get the staff to stop after 20 minutes, but it didn’t stop them from starting again a few hours later. If you value a good sleep on vacation this isn’t the place for you!

Mixed experience….

After visiting the Drake Devonshire previously for dinner years ago we were excited to stay at the inn for the long weekend to celebrate a big birthday. We were a bit disappointed to find our room was 1.5 blocks away from the quaint waterfront property in the Motor Inn. We didn’t feel like this was clearly noted on hotels.com and this part of the hotel didn’t seem worth the price tag. We don’t get housekeeping the whole time we were there even though we were out all day, they asked if the could clean around 4pm but we were back to get ready for dinner. We did enjoy the games, sauna and waterfront down the street though and had a lovely dinner at the Devonshire. Wouldn’t return to the Motor Inn though.

Lovely hotel, but noisy

The Drake Devonshire is gloriously situated on the northern shores of Lake Ontario and it is a very good looking and well appointed hotel with very attentive staff. We truly enjoyed our meals on the patio overlooking the lake, they were delicious. And the service was excellent. However, our room - in the main part of the hotel - was not adequately sound proof. Until about 10:30-11pm there was music from the ubiquitous speakers spread throughout the property and at about 5-6 am the next morning asking with a truck idling outside while making a delivery there was the almost constant chatter from some voices outside our room (staff? early rising guests? I dunno). It didn't help that the games room was essentially right outside our door... Anyhow, if we return, week definitely ask for another, quieter room.
