"This is a unique find, we enjoyed the history of the property. Typical Italian streets to maneuver to get to the huge villa and the gate entrance is tricky with a bigger vehicle. The villa rental part is just a portion of the house but plenty of room, 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. Kitchen good but if you want breakfast order in advance. "The property was beautiful and clean. Communications with the host were easy even though we didn’t speak Italian. Host was very responsive to our questions and responded immediately. "Good value for money and friendly host. I would give it 3.5 stars. The property has a lovely garden and view of the lake but best suits someone with a car as there is a limited bus timetable to and from Varenna and is not suitable for walking. We travelled in October so perhaps there may be better transport options in the summer months. The room had everything we needed but could do with some updating."
