"First impressions were slightly underwhelming, but ignore those, the hotel is excellent and the staff are great. The food was wonderful and the pool was lovely. To swim and watch kites and eagles overhead is a rare pleasure and now a glorious memory. Criticisms - the room tended to get quite hot and there is public transport but it’s a bit of a walk away, but those a minor criticisms. On the main question - would I go back? Yes. Gladly. Gratefully."

"We arrived during the evening hours and someone from the reception greeted us and went over and explained about the room and hotel facilities (inc SPA). "The house was large for Europe, the host, Carolin, was very attentive and accommodating. The beds were arranged in an interesting manner to fit in 14 people, but it worked. The location is great, close to a grocery store and town. The “hot pot” had been updated from the photos and took a long time to heat, so plan accordingly. The outdoor fireplace was wonderful. It was lovely to have a washer & dryer on site too. (Need Google translate to operate) The trash/recycling/compost situation was confusing so good luck, but Carolin was helpful with that. We never turned on the T.V., so you know it was a great trip. I highly recommend this property if you’re visiting the Black Forest or surrounding areas. "
