Good: -comfy bed -clean -kitchen facilities -good bars (down the side streets off the opposite side of Avinguda Diagonal) Ok but room to improve: -only given one key for our room -initially a bit tricky to get in! Instructions would be good but, even then, you need to press the 3 on the street side doorbell/intercom quite hard but I don't think it works every time. We didn't get a response until we phoned reception and he buzzed us in. I helped another pair of travellers get in when they had the same issue the next day. -not that we travel for TV but we did use it a bit and it seems to have only p*rn or some sort of religious channel that uses eggs or tarot cards. An HDMI lead would have been a game changer.

Excellent!

Our stay at Wow Hostel was unforgettable. The front staff are super friendly and helped us with our needs. Our twin-bed room was spotless. The shared washrooms were clean too. The location is excellent with easy access to public transport and tons of restaurants in the neighborhood.

Good location, Room is big, Air conditioner is quiet and cool, Staffs are very friendly. However the room soundproof is very bad... The common area is next to our room, you can hear all the noise in the midnight. The rooms are on the 3rd floor and face to a busy street with vehicles noise... If you can tolerance with noise but want a cheap prices then this hostel is fine.

This facility needs a facelift. Our room looked haggard, desperately needing a paint job. It smelled so strongly of bleach that we had to leave the windows open for the first day. One of the floor's toilets needed to be scrubbed on the underside of the seat for the entire 3 days we were there, and the soap dispenser did not work despite the fact that we notified the front desk staff. The primary upside of this hostal is its relatively lower cost & proximity to Avenida Diagonal buses & a short 6 to 8-minute walk to the nearest metro stop.

Good budget hostel

The hostel has a great location, very central directly on the Diagonal Av., so it's pretty easy to walk almost everywhere in Barcelona in 20-30 minutes. There are also several buses stops nearby and the metro is not far, so it's also well communicated. The downside to being directly on this main road is that the rooms facing the front of the building are VERY loud, with traffic noises not stopping either at night, so this may be a big problem for people sensitive to noise. The staff was friendly and helpful. We didn't really use much the kitchen, but it is definitely very convenient to have, and there's flatrate popcorn. For the price it was definitely a good stay, as long as you keep in mind that this is a budget hostel. Anyone looking for something fancy should probably consider paying for a higher end hotel.

Awful stay. Incredibly deceived.

We booked a few days stay at this place. We thought that it would be the nicest place of our trip, according to the pictures and the good ratings. But it turned out to be the absolute worst we have ever stayed, and especially for this money.I have never been as deceived as here. The photographs are heavily edited and NOTHING!! like reality. Moreover, we did not receive the room from the photo. The room we received was sticky and facing the busiest road of Barcelona, so there is constant traffic noise. The room itself is in a bad state. The double bed collapsed a few times (mind you, I am 48kg). When fixing the wooden slats, we couldn't help but notice the huge stains on the mattresses. According to the layer of dust, the mirror hasn't been wiped down for a couple of weeks. I wonder if the room is cleaned at all between visitors, besides changing of the bedsheets. Our booking included the use of a shared bathroom. I have stayed in many hostels, but I have never seen bathrooms in such a state. The showerhead which does not cost more than 20 euros to replace was broken and spewing a gush of water from one part. There was nowhere to hang it, as the holder had broken off. Mold, dirt and rust all over. My friend saw a cockroach while showering. When we checked out, the elevator did not work. Hauling our luggage down, we found broken glass and blood all over the floor. Turns out the elevator was smashed. If you want to enjoy Barcelona, avoid this place like the plague.
