"The hotel is in the perfect location. Easy to get to and plenty of parking. The hotel is clean, the rooms are spacious and clean . The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast is delicious from the coffee to the fruit! There’s something for everyone, even cold brew!! The pool an hot tub were wonderful at the end of a busy day sightseeing."

"The place was dirty and I had no phone service or wifi which resulted in my child with special needs to become frustrated and scared so after 1 hour we had to leave. ...Oh and he refused to refund me for the next 5 days yet I was only there for 60 minutes.Heartless man who just wants your money!"

"This was a disappointing stay, especially for the price, and I would caution others from renting this house.The good: We loved the community/beach. The house's renovations seem to be recent, the house was clean (subject to notes below), and tastefully decorated.The bad: The house appears to suffer from an absentee host.1. One smoke alarm was beeping from a low battery when we arrived. There was one 9V battery (I don't know if it was unused or just had enough juice to get us through the stay) in a kitchen drawer. I replaced the battery. Both batteries were past the best by dates (I think one was 2023 and one was 2024), reflecting that they were very old.A DIFFERENT smoke alarm alerted at approx. 4am during our first night because of a low battery, waking up all four of us. I disconnected it because there was no additional battery.When contacted the next day, the owner was unapologetic and later claimed it was "strange" that we did not find any more replacement batteries in a different drawer (by the fireplace). A modest amount of effort from the owner and/or staff would have avoided this.2. The kitchen stove was beeping from some sort of electrical error when we arrived. I unplugged it (we did not need it for our visit). There were at least three dead mice behind the stove when I pulled it out.3. The house is musty, I think from no vent in the bathroom. My wife's eyes were swollen from an allergic reaction.4. Not enough blankets for cool fall nights."

"The updated, charming home is spotless, bright, and very comfortable with all the amenities you could need. Check in is simple and the host is very responsive. The outside property is beautiful and nicely kept. It is quiet and feels remote, but we were never more than a five minute drive to restaurants, groceries, and bountiful farms. This home is truly a gem! "

"This is a very unique home. (Esp. to our family: As several members had shopped here in their Youth, when it sold cold cuts, Italian ices and other staples to the Reeves summer community, at a time BEFORE people had telephones on their kitchen walls or hot water in their bungalows. ) Late Sept. 2025, we hosted two gatherings for the Mighty Collaborating Artists in our family and their entire Support Crew who did the heavy-lifting in bringing their displays to Hallockville Festival.Everybody enjoyed this wonderful cottage which was perfect in every way possible for the "after-parties" on Saturday night (7 people) and Sunday (8). Some folks stayed over, which means the 3rd generation to experience this house now LOVES sleeping in the LOFT. The kitchen, dining area, & extra fridge, were very well suited for entertaining. Sandra's welcome-guidelines explained everything. Household switches and remotes were all (brilliantly) labelled to ensure maximum comfort. (Some days were over 80; One night, it went down to 38.)Such a well-stocked, smartly-organized, fun, accessible, super-clean, & comfortable house this is!! The other Main Event? That would be the Long Island Sound. Are you a FIEND for beachcombing? or, ..Photographing STUNNING sunsets? Concerned about "adverse effects" of all your exertions climbing atop gigantic boulders? No worries. Why? You will sleep on the most comfortable master-bedroom mattress on the whole Eastern Seaboard! "
