"What a great stay. Kevin and Maria were very attentive, warm, and hospitable. This was our first night in UK after a long flight and felt like home. The accommodations were very nice and the king room was so cozy. The bed slept great and had everything we needed. The breakfast was first class but also made us feel like we were staying with family! Thanks for the great stay."

"From the first welcome to the final farewell, it was a joy to stay there. Substantive breakfasts, pet friendly, old manor house setting with great views. Good choice of relatively local (less than 10 miles) public houses for evening fare. Already hoping to get back there when next visiting the Lakes, which start only six miles north."

"Cheap and cheerful, in need of a lot of tlc. Room 5 was fine although the bathroom floor was very uneven. Breakfast was good, other meals were okay, you get what you pay for! Had to wash everything when we got home due to the smell of fried food. "

"Hillsdale was a joy and delight, in an excellent location with great off Road parking. The BnB was spotlessly clean, rooms were homely and cosy all topped off with a great breakfast! Steve and Caz were the best hosts and couldn’t do enough for you. Highly recommend!"

"Fantastic hotel. Staff are so welcoming, Alicia, Oliver, mark, Amelia, Leslie go above and beyond. The rooms are spotless. The food is fantastic.
The spa is so relaxing. We can not wait to come back."
"This was my second time staying here. And I have to say the first time (September '25) was great and I felt that I had found a good hotel that I can use regularly when I come visit my daughter in University.
First time around 5 stars, staff food excellent
This time around the staff were just down right rude and didn't care, one evening I had to get my key fob reset and it took almost 20 for this very rude gentleman to come from out the back to reset my card.
The chef also has changed because the food we got and my steak was some of the worst ever and the fries I had with the steak were still uncooked inside not to mention that it also took an absolute age to get served, and in fact it took that long I had to go to the cashier at the till to give him my order.
Also please people dont waste your time getting the meal included with your room its a waste of money, you have a separate food menu and theres nothing on it worth eating so as I done i just paid for the main menu meal.
All things considered and I stay in hotels quite a lot I was glad to get checked out only to get home and receive 5 yes 5 parking tickets now they each came at separate times so when I got the fifth one I didn't care anymore I just felt you can have my money.... (the other 4 I sent to the hotel and they squashed them).
But all that aside, the rooms were very nice and the hotel was quite modern too and the breakfast I would give it 2 stars."
"We have stayed at the Riverside hotel a few times. Not been for about 8 years but had a one night stay on the 9th May.
It has been one of my favourite hotels but after staying this time the cleanliness has gone down hill. The family room No 3 was very dusty on skirting boards and dado rails and window sill was covered in flies. The shower room needed bleaching around the bottom of the shower. The lamp on the dressing table was extra dusty on top . These things can be put right if you got a good cleaner in. It has certainly put me off staying again. The breakfast was so nice & were the staff. A lovely clean bed but the lack of dusting in the room has let this hotel down. 😪"
