Fine breakfast but only instant freeze dried coffee, and few options if you don't want a fry up. Immediate area full of litter on streets (like most of Barry). I know this isn't their fault but it's a location point. Overall a fine place to stay but I'm surprised current reviews are quite so high -- afterall, a warm and friendly welcome should be expected...

"It was a very nice stay with an excellent couple. Warm welcomed. A very nice big dog was also present to welcome. I had to say hello to the dog as he was so friendly. Very cooperative host. Family environment. Residence is upstairs like three rooms and bathroom outside the rooms. Mostly quiet. Nice and clean and a proper communication with the host throughout my stay. I was invited warmly to have breakfast but had no time. Will miss this stay."

"Lovely welcoming staff on reception. Nice room with very comfortable beds. Our view was of a wall but that didn’t bother us, rooms at the front of the hotel would have great city views especially from higher floors. Breakfast was decent, quality was mostly ok and included all the basics you’d expect although no hash browns. Good aircon which was easy to use. The main entrance to the hotel is on Broad Quay, not Marsh Street."
