"Warm welcome and friendly staff, however quite a modest property even for a BnB and at this price point. Small room with very small shower. Fine breakfast but only instant freeze dried coffee, and few options if you don't want a fry up. Immediate area full of litter on streets (like most of Barry). I know this isn't their fault but it's a location point. Overall a fine place to stay but I'm surprised current reviews are quite so high -- afterall, a warm and friendly welcome should be expected...

"Really accommodating host.
We needed an early check in and this was sorted for us no problem.
Clean room. Comfy bed. Good shower.
Although no-one manned the reception, the host was easy to get hold of and made the stay easy as pie.
Thank you very much"

"The room was very spacious and comfortable everything and more was provided for our stay. Was offered a cream tea on arrival which of course we excepted. There was a great choice at breakfast. Terri was a wonderful host full of local knowledge. Would highly recommend. Crosscombe was a lovely village with a great pub serving good food. There was a bar at the b and b."

"We loved our stay here! Staff was very friendly and helpful. The entire check in and check out process was very smooth. Was everything we needed for our short stay in Cardiff. Will definitely be back!"

"It was a very nice stay with an excellent couple. Warm welcomed. A very nice big dog was also present to welcome. I had to say hello to the dog as he was so friendly. Very cooperative host. Family environment. Residence is upstairs like three rooms and bathroom outside the rooms. Mostly quiet. Nice and clean and a proper communication with the host throughout my stay. I was invited warmly to have breakfast but had no time. Will miss this stay."

"Lovely welcoming staff on reception. Nice room with very comfortable beds. Our view was of a wall but that didn’t bother us, rooms at the front of the hotel would have great city views especially from higher floors.
Breakfast was decent, quality was mostly ok and included all the basics you’d expect although no hash browns.
Good aircon which was easy to use.
The main entrance to the hotel is on Broad Quay, not Marsh Street."
"Had a great overnight stay at Moxy Bristol. The location was ideal; easy to get to coming from the M32. We parked at Cabot Circus car park which is right opposite and reasonable rates. We could literally see our car from our window! It was just a short walk into town, which was great.
The hotel itself was clean, great decor, staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean and well presented with some nice touches. Very comfy and felt right at home. The only disappointment was the buffet breakfast. Not sure if it was because it was a Sunday, but it was a bit messy and it took a while for food and drink to be restocked. There a was a good range or food, but the quality was a bit hit and miss in places (especially the cooked breakfast). The layout wasn't ideal; being strung out across the back wall behind the bar area meant there wasn't a massive amount of space and the layout was confusing and cluttered. Some of the seating - whilst great for a bar - doesn't really lend itself to a comfy breakfast! Overall, not too bad considering the price, but it could've been so much better.
We'd happily stay at the Moxy again if we come back to Bristol, but we'd most likely get breakfast somewhere else."
"Of course, the hotel is dated and doesn't look great from the outside, but it is well maintained and spotlessly clean in all areas, as far as I could judge. The room and bathroom were a decent size, breakfast was good quality but the hotel's strength is its staff. All were very friendly and helpful and seemed pleased I was there! Excellent value for money."
"Check in was good and quick, but £5 for parking because I didn’t book direct. Room was clean but broken tiles in the bathroom. Breakfast was good but on the cold side. All in all it ’s ok for an overnight stay"
"Fantastic staff and clean room
Just found the sink being in the room and not in the bathroom a little odd
Could also have been a fridge in the room
Food in the diner was great - really accommodating for my gluten free diet"
