EAST WIND is lovely SOUND FRONT home in the mecca for windsurfing on HI

Located in the prestigious wind surfing mecca in north Avon, East Wind is a large 5 bedroom house on the sound! We also have a large dock which is great for sunbathing. We recently made the dock more water accessible by lowering the height of the pilings.
We have access to the community pool which just steps away. There is also a launch area for smaller power boats in the common area.
What a pleasure to bring multiple guests to EASTWIND! This house has a large open floor plan on the top level boasting a well equipped kitchen with an island, a spacious dining area, and a beautiful living room with fantastic views of the sound. Please note the fireplace is not a working fireplace. It is for decoration only. There is room to spread out as there are 3 common living areas...one on each floor. There is also a small loft area where you can get an even better view of the water. Multiple decks afford opportunities to enjoy spectacular sunsets and daily viewing of water birds and water sports enthusiasts. The top floor also has a master suite with an on-suite bathroom. In fact, all the 5 bedrooms have their own bathrooms. Please note that you must bring linens for a king, 3 queen, and 3 twin, plus a queen size hide a bed couch. All bedrooms have a TV.
We also do not provide towels. Ocean Atlantic Rentals in Avon provides drop off and pick up of linens and towels. They have a website where you can order online.
There are 3 bedrooms with baths on on the 2nd level also. The first level has a large bedroom with 3 twin beds... certainly great for kids! The house has multiple decks ...the second level has a hot tub where one can enjoy the terrific views while soaking. The bottom level has a game room with a regulation pool table, TV, and refrigerator. Surrounded by beautiful wetlands and wildlife, you are set to enjoy a dream vacation on this waterfront property. The OCEAN BEACH is also within walking distance (approximately 10 to15 minutes) if you want to surf the waves! Avon is also super convenient as it has terrific shopping, the Avon Pier, a wide range of wonderful restaurants and the close proximity of Food Lion, the only large supermarket on Hatteras Island. Avon also has a bike path for running and biking the whole length of the village. We do not host weddings. You will love EASTWIND and you will love AVON!

Great vacation

The house was perfect for our huge family (8 kids ranging from 6 up to 20). We absolutely loved playing in the sound and hanging out on the dock as well as heading out in kayaks and rented paddle boards to explore. The ocean/beach was a quick walk from the house and groceries etc was super close. I highly recommend this property!

Great Location

The house was perfect for our group of 12. The sound access was easy, and perfect to paddle board and kayak. The house had a few kayaks on the property we were able to use. The beach was an easy walk, just across the road. We had rented bikes that made the beach access even easier. Communication with the property manager was quick and very easy. Definitely would recommend and rent again!

Was very nice clean house . Work had been put into house fresh paint on outside / new roof from year before. House is much larger than would think. Only recommendation felt like linens could have been provided than having to go thru rental service .

The house fit all of us comfortably with the many bedroom options. A plus would be if they offered linens like most rentals. Having to pack sheets & towels is a big hassle. The house was spacious but a bit dated. Beautiful views but for older folks - it’s a lot of stairs - just fyi. Nice location with dock for fishing and riding kayaks.

Great stay in Avon with friends

Pros: Property was in a great location with nice views of the sound. Easy walk to the ocean across the street. Nice Kitty Hawk Kites 1 min walk. House had plenty of bedrooms and a bathroom in each. Nice decks and hot tubs to watch the sunset. Pool easy walk and empty most of the time. Cons: Common area/kitchen daily small and the house was older with 80’s decor. House was clean but the linoleum is old to the point of being faded and sticky in the kitchen.

Would recommend/things to know

Great place to stay- all appliances worked well, plenty of kayaks ect, we all had our own rooms and bathrooms. Close to everything and really enjoyed the community pool. Things to know- Water is very hot and only 1tub plug if you need to bathe kids. No baby items- crib/ high chair or baby gates for stairs. Router for tv is in 2nd living area. This room is great for 6th bedroom. It can be closed for privacy but you need to bring an air mattress. The sofa bed is not use able like springs over a sheet. Bring insect spray for mosquitoes and no beach to speak of. Overall would definitely recommend and really appreciate the owner allowing us to do a partial stay.

EastWind House in Avon

The house was perfect for our family to come together to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary. It was our daughter and son and their families. There was plenty of bedrooms for everyone as well as private bathrooms. There was room for everyone to spread out and find their favorite place to chill. My reason for 3 stars on cleanliness was that there were empty bottles and other miscellaneous items under some of the beds that was overlooked by the cleaning crew.. The linen service worked well, except for the fact that they did not send a king sized sheet for the master bedroom. What came in the king size bundle was a queen sized fitted sheet and we could not get it on the bed. The location was gorgeous. I didn't realize that there was no beach access from the dock there. Overall we had an amazing vacation and loved the house and area.

Extremely clean! The kitchen was very well-stocked. Great family-friendly home. Plenty of room for all 8 of us to just relax, play games, watch the birds, watch the wind and kite surfers, and enjoy the beautiful view of the Pamlico Sound. Awesome location!

Big home on the sound

East Wind has it all - 5 BRs, access to the sound, a bonus media room, a complete lower level, a pool table. There are so many ways to have fun here. We had a phenomenal time. And Betty is always there for any questions.

Great location and bathroom arrangement

We were in Avon to windsurf for two weeks. The house is set up well for this. The house also has a great layout for couples, with each bedroom having it's own bath. Betty is a pleasure to work. We love Hatteras.
