We had a wonderful time at the Eagle's Nest. We were there with our kids, who are 10, 7 and 4. They loved it and cannot wait to go back. It is in a very convenient location.
A few notes, though, that are not in the description (or else I missed them):
1. One of the things we loved about this property is its proximity to the pier. However, the pier has been damaged and is closed during reconstruction. The property description references the proximity to the pier, but says nothing about the pier being closed and unusable.
2. It was not a problem for us, but anyone with a tiny baby or anybody who has trouble walking should know that this is not a walk out beach. You have to go up a couple sets of stairs to get over one sand dune and then up and over another sand dune without stairs. Obviously, if you're staying at the house, you probably can handle going up and down stairs since that's the only way into most of the houses in this area. But if you were planning to take a stroller or beach wagon to the beach, leave it at home because you won't be able to use it.
3. The kitchen has all of the utensils you could possibly need, but no spices are provided. Not even salt and pepper. Be sure to bring your own. Also, bring garbage bags because those are not provided either.
4. This is not a great area for biking. there is one sidewalk that runs along the main road and one neighborhood that you can bike in. But the town is not designed with my pants and there is a lot of traffic on the main road. In addition, there is no riding on the beach because you can't get the bikes to the beach. That said, if you bring your own bikes on a trailer, there are other beaches that you can ride on. Also, for people who love to bike, the main road is long and straight. Just not great riding for kids.
All that said, now knowing what we know, we would stay there again in a heartbeat. I would just do a little more research to make sure the pier is open before we book it.
