The best time to go to Aurora is during the winter months, specifically from late September through to late March, for the best chance to see the Northern Lights.During this period, the nights are long and dark, providing optimal conditions for viewing the aurora borealis. The colder, clearer weather often associated with winter also contributes to better visibility. Many visitors plan their trips between November and February when the phenomenon is typically at its most active, though sightings are never guaranteed. For those looking to combine aurora viewing with winter sports and activities, February and March are particularly good. The days are starting to lengthen, allowing for more daylight hours to enjoy dog sledding, snowmobiling, and ice fishing, while still offering plenty of darkness for the evening light show.
