Vickery Creek falls at the site of the old Roswell mill. Several walking trails in the area and remnants of the old mill make this a great area to explore.

A beautiful feature about the Atlanta Metro area is that it is not devoid of all green space. The Southern cities in the United States have embraced nature as they develop. Vickery Creek Falls is one such park that the city seems to melt away and you are transported right into nature. The trails are fairly easy to navigate and the inclines are gentle making for a stress free, picturesque stroll along side the banks of Big Creek. For a little more challenge complete the 4.7 loop that will take you past the spillway waterfall, historic mill and across a covered bridge. All this beauty is located right in the heart of Roswell just outside of Atlanta.

In the 1830s, Barrington King and his father, Roswell King, co-founded the colony which became Roswell, Georgia. In 1839 on the highest point, overlooking the town, Barrington built a magnificent home for his family which today is recognized as one of the best examples of Greek Revival architecture in the United States.

Overall a great experience for a trip to Atlanta to see a show at the Fox. Staff was exceptional. Parking easy. We did not have children with us but I was impressed with the promotions for the Harry Potter Show to make it special for children- a sorting hat, wands and a chance for a gift bag.

Other neighbourhoods around Roswell Historic District

This was taken at an outside garden at the Crowne Ravinia plaza. I was at a conference there the past weekend. It's a beautiful place to stay, especially if your at a conference. The staff is very hospitable and catering to group needs. The hotel had an indoor and outdoor garden which is quite beautiful. If you feel like spending a lot of money and want to stay in the dunwoody area it's a great place. Or, if your planning or at a conference it's a perfect location.
