"Highly recommend this hotel for its location to walking distance to all the downtown shops and restaurants. The fire pit and saunas located on the dock were nice to use. The sea lions sunbathing 24/7 under the docks with an above dock viewing area also brings in several passerby tourists which is comical at times. The decor, atmosphere and staff were outstanding. The earplugs on each side of the bed were a "nice touch" since the seal lions do plenty of chattering throughout the night/day. Although pricey rooms, spend the extra bucks and book the river view with your semi-private deck - very scenic."

"Nice to be out on the pier and watch boats and ships go by. The hotel's free vintage car rides to restaurants in town was much fun. Old photos of the area on the walls was enjoyable along with a video of the building of the hotel shown on the tv in our room. Too expensive. Hot tub was not working. Natural gas was turned off to repair a leak near the hotel. Not the hotel's fault."

Room on street was fun with the metal escape ladder outside one window and street views in the others while sitting above the old school radiator heaters. Yet it is clean, up to date with a comfortable bed. Great location near the water but sitting right inside downtown making walking tours enjoyable."

"Location is excellent with everything within walking distance. We stayed in Suite 206, which is a corner suite with its own bathroom. There was a cute egg-shaped swing chair hanging from the ceiling and a long couch but no TV, which was fine because we were hardly in the room. There were two bathrobes, blow dryer, and a mini tower fan available in the closet. Room and bathroom were very clean. Recommend using the provided earplugs or picking up a fan noise maker since the hotel has several bars across the street that play live music on weekends and delivery/garbage trucks early in the mornings. The check-in desk is up three short flights of stairs and there are no elevators so keep that in mind if you have mobility issues. Parking was plentiful on the street."

"Our delightful stay in this exceptional unit will never be forgotten! How amazing is it to sleep within walls of the underground, a key component of Astoria history? VERY AMAZING! The unit is functional and comfortable with pleasant amenities and unique furniture, lighting and other surprising features. The unit pales only in comparison to Jeff, the host, who is one of the friendliest, knowledgeable and helpful pillars of the Astoria community we've ever met in our many trips to this fun, artsy, and scenic town. We express our sincere gratitude to Jeff - as a true humanitarian and historian - for opening this unique unit to us. (And for the enlightening underground tour -definitely worth experiencing during your stay). Book this, and have fun, while respecting the history of this PNW town!"

"Rooms clean and nice, location is pretty under the bridge along the water, it's about a 15-20 minute walk to the cute part of downtown which is not bad if you like walking. Unfortunately walls are thin, my neighbor was scream crying for about an hour one night and the other neighbors were up yelling to each other on the porch around midnight the night before. I know there's not a lot the hotel can do about that but definitely not the best nights of sleep. Mini fridge and microwave came in handy and price was right in the off season."
