Layout: There are three steps up to the front porch, but the living space is all contained on one level. We have arranged an open living/dining area with wifi and a Smart TV. The owner of the house lives downstairs with a roommate. The two levels are totally separated and there is no need to share a common area. Kitchen: There is a refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, coffee pot, blender, toaster and a full set of dishes and cooking utensils. The kitchen is fully equipped for cooking if desired. However, just in case you choose to enjoy Asheville's wonderful restaurants - there is a notebook full of delicious choices! Porch: You’ll find a back porch where you can relax and enjoy the serenity of the bamboo grove and French Broad River.
Guest access: The entire main level is for your enjoyment!
Guest interaction: Our interaction with you as our guests is partially up to you! Our standard procedure is to greet you upon arrival (if possible), give you the key and a brief tour of the house and amenities offered. We will always available via text/phone call for Asheville advice!
Neighborhood overview: Joyner Avenue is a quiet street that runs parallel to the French Broad River and is only one street away. It is being revitalized, reflecting the growth of this vibrant community. Just below us is Cultivate Climbing with its amazing rock climbing facility. At the end of our street you’ll find Home Ground Coffee Bar & Deli, which serves delicious coffee and food. If you want to relax during your stay in Asheville, this is the neighborhood for you!
Getting around: Best modes of transportation in Asheville are definitely Uber and Lyft.
Other things to note: We are situated on a quiet street a five-minute walk to Carrier Park with access to the entire RiverLink park system along the French Broad River. Rent a bike and travel along the river or visit the funky River Arts District on the other side of the bridge. Rent an inner tube and enjoy a peaceful float down the river with Zen Tubing or get ambitious and try out a stand up paddle board (SUP). Visit the riverside breweries at the New Belgium, The Wedge, or farther downstream at the Bywater where you can pull in right off the river. The Biltmore Estate is just a short 3.1 miles away. Downtown Asheville is 3.0 miles away filled with street life and restaurants. We are a 10-minute drive to the Blue Ridge Parkway and access to the Appalachian Mountain trail system.

Charming house that was close to everything. Everything was clean and organized. The third bedroom was a pleasant surprise. The back porch view is stunning with the bamboo and all the bird songs.
Property is perfectly names, clean, good location to everything Biltmore, downtown Asheville, River art district. River art district has been hit hard by hurricane Helene, however you can see it is starting to revive itself. We did E-bikes, which was great.
Great property that is more spacious than the listing or images convey. Would recommend for families or friends looking to explore the west avl and river arts area.
This place was very clean and comfortable. It's located on a quite street close to downtown, the Biltmore, and the river. I would definitely stay here again.
Great stay. Comfortable beds. Lots of places to see just a short drive away. Thumbs up all around. Would stay again. With an extra half bathroom, this would be the perfect place to stay.
The Bamboo Bungalow was a charming place. The neighborhood was nice, the interior was lovely, the beds were comfortable, and the kitchen was well supplied. We were almost sorry to have to leave!
My sisters and I stayed at the Bamboo Bungalow for several days, and it was absolutely perfect! The house is charming, very comfortable, and well stocked. The location was a hop skip and a jump from virtually all the destinations we wanted to visit!
2 couples stayed for a weekend getaway. We visited Biltmore every day and enjoyed the close commute to that property. Cozy stay, nice and quite. Highly recommend.
The house had everything that we needed, 3 bedrooms, and very close to the Biltmore and River Arts District. The beds were very comfortable! A 10 minute drive to downtown. Nice and quiet.
We visited Ashville for a visit with family in the area. The house was far enough from the main thoroughfares to be quite and feel safe but close enough that we could walk to town (if we were ambitious). Overall, the house was well appointed and comfortable for my wife and I and our 2 adult sons.
We came for a few days to visit Ashville and the biltmore. We drove into the neighborhood and saw multiple people walking their dogs and one family with a stroller. This made us feel very safe and secure. The house was easy to spot as it is surrounded by bamboo. We also loved the proximity to the park, the river, breweries, and the biltmore. I would highly recommend staying here if you have the opportunity.
We came to Asheville to visit with friends and get away over the New Year’s holiday. We enjoyed the Bamboo Cottage very much - it was conveniently located in a neighborhood with a lot of character and just across the river from the huge Arts District. If we had an issue or question about the property, the host was quick to respond. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen had everything handy to do some light cooking and snack making. We would gladly book this home again!
My daughter and I loved Asheville and were very comfortable in your home. Love the privacy of the bamboo in the back. There was plenty of room, very clean and any questions we had were answered promptly. There was construction on the street but that could not be helped and I’m sure it is temporary. The coffee maker is getting tired but still worked. We would choose your home again, thank you!
This property was a gem to stay at. Extremely clean and well stocked with things you may need for making yourself comfortable. Listed as a 2 bedroom, but was actually 3 which worked out for our teens who don’t like to share a room. Neighborhood going through transition as can tell several homes being rehabbed. Tight street, but seemed safe. Close to must see places. Highly recommend and would stay there again.
We really enjoyed our stay. We came for a 4 day vacation before school began. At first glance, it appears you are far away from everything but really you are within 2-5 miles of everything you would want to see. My husband and son enjoyed a day on the river fishing with a guide. We enjoyed a 4 hour kayak trip the following day (Ashville Adventure Co. that was 1 mi. away!). It was really fun! It was an enjoyable stay. The home is cozy! The host was very nice and responsive!
Easy to find, easy parking, unit within walking distance to the river arts district. Nice, eclectic area. Friendly neighborhood. Good response from hosts. Appreciate the extras, like an extension cord already in the unit. A lot of the times there simply aren’t enough lamps and lighting. Both were ample in the bamboo bungalow.
We really enjoyed our stay. The bungalow was comfortable and our check-in process was a breeze. Austin sent detailed directions, which were helpful.
The beds were comfortable and the house is spacious. On the listing it only showed images of two bedrooms, but once we arrived we saw it actually has three bedrooms and four beds. That was a pleasant surprise. The kitchen is well equipped with dishes and cups and whatnot. The only issue is the pans are a bit warped, which made cooking on a flat-top electric stove a bit of a challenge. It would be wonderful to replace the large pan with one that is not warped. Otherwise everything was great!
The size and layout of the house is very comfortable. The bedroom sizes also made our stay very comfortable. We were slightly disappointed with the level of sunlight during the day. Unsure if this was due to fall sun or the height of the bamboo. The shuffle board on back deck was great and worked very well! Loads of fun. Kitchen appliances worked fine. Suggestion would be to get new pots/pans. A new can opener is needed. Plenty of dishes for our use (3 adults). There were some dirty dishes in the cabinet. Overall cleanliness gets a B rating. Generally clean, but some ick factors are stains on chairs in addition to the dirty dishware. It could use a deep cleaning. The beds were comfortable and had plenty of linens available. The location is fantastic! Close to arts district and easy enough to get to downtown or the blue ridge. We walked to and explored the park trail and west end restaurants. While there are minimal sidewalks and hills, it was easy enough to do. Communication with the host worked well. He was even able to accommodate a special request, which I’m very grateful for. That reminds me, highly suggest a tour of the chocolate factory that is close by! We are so very happy we chose this area to visit. It’s amazing to see all the work that is being done to bring back the area. It’s quite incredible, actually.

Nice place for a visit
Overall, the bungalow was a very nice place to stay while visiting Ashville for a week. The location was great … we were always 5 to 20 minutes from where we wanted to go. There was plenty of room to spread out, relax and work. The back porch was great for the early morning.
Kitchen and dining areas were spacious. Rooms had plenty of closet and dresser space. Washer/dryer/iron was a benefit. Shower was great.
House was nicely decorated and clean. Hardwood floors and woodwork throughout the home was beautiful. Towels and bath soap were great
Neighborhood was quiet and street parking was fine.
Beds were very soft and not comfortable for us. Kitchen had ants and fortunately they had ant traps we could out out. Dishes/glasses/utensils were plentiful. Cookware was warped and not usable. Should be replaced. House was clean except for dryer lint trap that hadn’t been cleaned in a long time. Couches were nice but lacking a place to rest feet while watching tv
Overall it was a very good place. If a few of these things could be changed it would be perfect
