Overall this was a perfect combination for our weekend get away to big tree state park and visiting the near by caverns. The kids loved it. Things went very smoothly.
excellent property. Clean, modern, house with a very good kitchen. we ate, we talked, we laughed, we hiked, we skied, and enjoyed all the amenities at the house. could have a bit more privacy between upstairs rooms, but with that said, it is still a wonderful place. We would stay there again. we also saw a fox and three deer in the back yard. (added bonus)
This property was amazing for family travel. It’s conveniently located to Big Trees and other natural activities for kids. The property was comfortable and super well thought out for families. There were games, puzzles, and a whole little library set up for families to enjoy. They ensured there were plenty of fire starting materials and had many areas set up for families to congregate and have family fun screen free. The game room was fire!! My kids and their cousins had a blast! 10/10 recommend. The beds were pretty comfy too! And my husband rarely says that!
We came as a family of four, with two teenage boys. I grew up in the area and we had a cabin that we rented ourselves back in the day. This time I was a little disappointed. The pinecone cabin was nice, clean, lovely fireplace, and the rec room was nice (though could use an airing out). Cedar creek realty folks were kind and professional. The main thing we were a bit disappointed about was the size/layout, which was very cramped for us, as a family of four with two big teenage boys. From the listing we thought the cabin would have been bigger (based on my memory only, I believe the listing stated 1500 square feet, two bedrooms and a sleeping loft, and listed it could sleep up to 8). This may all be technically true, but the layout makes it feel tight - since the living area is quite small with not much lounge space, and the upstairs loft sleeping area is open to the living room, so everything upstairs can be heard downstairs. I can’t imagine 8 people being comfortable sharing this space, it would be better for a couple or a family with small kids. You may want to emphasize this so future renters can be aware. In any case, we had a good time, so thank you.
