Fine house close to town center

Let me begin with a word to first-time foreign visitors to the French Pyrenees. This region was never one of the wealthier areas of France. So if you are looking for accommodation suitable for a Russian oligarch on the Côté dAzure, this is not your place. What one finds here is good, comfortable, honest housing close to unspoiled nature. The Pyrenees are nowhere near as developed as the French Alps and , in our opinion, that’s a good thing. With regard to La Balandrette, the reception and location were perfect. The house itself also has many virtues. We especially appreciated the parking garage in high summer, especially on market days when parking and traffic in Argeles-Gazost can be very difficult. The garden spaces around the house were just wonderful. Multiple mountain views with several options for outdoor dining. The house is generously supplied with towels and bedding and the wifi was first-class. We found the upstairs bedrooms to be quite warm during the heatwaves this summer despite the excellent fans provided by the Burgues family. But the house was obviously not originally built with climate change in mind, so you adjust. We used the downstairs bedroom which was pleasant and cool. The only points for house improvement we would cite would be the need to update the plumbing fixtures in the bathrooms, especially the downstairs shower. Overall, an excellent experience, and we would gladly return. Highly recommended.

Bon accueil. Gîte parfaitement équipé et propre. Très bien situé. Calme et pas loin du centre ville. Argelès est un bourg où il fait bon vivre. Les commerçants sont aimables. Nous avons passé un merveilleux séjour. Beaucoup de choses à faire dans le coin : rando, les cirques, les grottes, Lourdes, les marchés… tristes de repartir…

Couple avec chien pendant 15 jours. Nous avons passés un très agréable séjour. La maison est un peu vieillotte mais assez bien équipée avec un jardin plein de charme et bien agencé. Localisation parfaite, proche du centre d'Argelès-Gazost avec tous les commerces mais calme et énormément de choses à faire (montagne, lacs, balades, villes) dans un périmètre de moins de 100 km. Vacances réussies dans une région magnifique!

Idéalement située pour la rando et proche de tout!

Maison atypique et chaleureuse avec un très bel extérieur pour les repas et pour notre golden. Nous avons pu partir tous les jours pour randonner. Quelques parcours en partant à pied mais la plupart à quelques km en voiture pour des ascensions vers des lieux magiques! Le centre du village est à côté à pied avec un très beau marche. Séjour à Argelès Gazost

Mon épouse et moi-même avons redécouvert cette belle région des Hautes Pyrénées. Nous avons séjourné dans cette maison typique qui a été rénovée et qui offre tout le confort nécessaire à un agréable séjour. Située à 200 m du centre ville et de ses commerces, elle offre un calme et une vue sur les montagnes très appréciables. L’accueil a été très amical, à l’image de la gentillesse des gens de la région. Un excellent séjour au final.

Relaxing holiday in ideal location

My wife and I had a wonderful cycling and walking holiday in Argelès Gazost. The house is in a peaceful location on the edge of the town but just a 5 minute stroll to all the amenities. The house had everything we needed and the grounds provided a variety of areas to sit out, to eat and to enjoy the views.
