"This accommodation is very remote. But really nice. The rooms are large and clean with nice en-suite facilities and the dining room - in an extended sun room - is spacious and comfortable. Very well run by a lovely couple we enjoyed our stay. Take dinner here - it’s very good value and enjoyable."

"We rented electric bikes to ride over to the castle a few miles away. The whole process was simple. We even got to relax at the pool for a little while.
The staff was so accommodating and wonderful. Beds were comfy and clean. Really can’t complain."
"My first time at the Oban Bay Hotel. I used the valet parking service for my car which I found very helpful. There is a free car park nearby though if people prefer.
The evening meal I ordered in the bar was lovely and I had a view of the ferries coming and going.
I wasnt able to book in for the time I wanted for breakfast which was a shame but I appreciated the breakfast to go they arranged for me so that I could catch my ferry to Mull in the morning.
The room was really cosy and quiet. I appreciated the Tunnocks treats left in the room for me too. I had a great night's sleep.
I wouldnt hesitate to book again in the future. The staff were all very helpful and friendly too."
"The inside of the hotel is v modern and has nice amenities. Small maintenance issues need dealing with. The exterior needs some touch ups. Staff, Mia, was great and one not so hospitable. Didn’t select breakfast when told my only option was the buffet for 14.99£, despite menu offerings stating otherwise."
"The rooms were small, but adequate. The staff was fantastic! The room was quite hot (no AC), but the front desk staff offered a fan immediately to be brought to our room….what a difference that made. The mattress was also very comfortable. We would stay here again."
"We had a great stay at the Whisky Vaults. I would say this was 60% due to the full property and 40% due to the hotel/room itself. Being in the Vaults was awesome. The location was great, the staff was outstanding, and the benefits of being within the community was the best. For instance we enjoyed the whisky tasting, and there was a gathering of local musicians who were playing together for several hours that was a great experience. The hotel room itself was a little small and not great for a tall traveler, but comfortable and clean. It had a small window overlooking the harbor that had a little view, but nice."
"Room very compact. Bed comfortable. Downside no windows but temperature control did not feel stuffy. Good shower and hot water. Ideal location very central."
"The hotel maybe not look the best from outside but significant changes have been made since we were there last to improve things. The room we were in was clean, comfortable, nicely decorated and had a fabulous view. Every member of staff we met was polite and friendly. The girl who checked us in was lovely. We didn't eat in as so many places to eat in Oban so can't comment on food. The hotel is in a great location for us as is so close to main centre and it also has a lift which is very handy. There is a good few steps from ground to entrance however, a ramp could perhaps be made at one side to pull cases up as I did notice people struggling. I am sure though reception would help if asked. We will be back"
"The room was VERY small. So if you’re on a longer visit with lots of luggage the room we were in (#2) would not be able to accommodate you and your luggage. We asked for a king bed but it was a queen and there was no AC on an unusually warm weather day. We were on the first level so the guests who were in the rooms above kept pacing overnight and the noise was loud and prevented us from getting any sleep. The young woman who was our server at breakfast 6/23 was rude and unpleasant which has not been our overall experience throughout Scotland."
The ancestral residence of the MacLean clan contains 800 years of history within its medieval battlements, perched on the sea cliffs above the Sound of Mull.
