"Love this property! This is our second time staying here and highly recommend. The property has amazing views, the rooms/villa are all new and well appointed with all you may need. I recommend a 4x4 as it is up the hill but the drive is well worth it. Communication is always amazing. "
"We loved the grounds, so peaceful and lush. Huge variety of birds, howler monkeys in the distance each morning, incredibly kind, helpful and friendly staff. Delicious food, beverages and the best swimming pool ever!"
"We really enjoyed our stay. The room was very clean and the property is very well maintained including the pool. The outdoor kitchen is well equipped and it is a beautiful place to have breakfast. They provide fresh water and coffee from the family farm. It is well located between the Marino Ballena National park and the uvita waterfall. It is a quite and beautiful place to stay!"
"Villas en el Bosque provided the perfect sanctuary for our family to unwind, relax, and fully immerse ourselves in the beauty of Costa Rica. The villa offered both comfort and space for our family of four.
The owners were incredibly welcoming and hospitable. But what truly made this experience unforgettable was the breathtaking view. Our villa overlooked the lush forest, with a stunning glimpse of the ocean in the distance. Every morning, we enjoyed the natural spectacle right from our patio,...

Villa Monos Locos - A Luxurious, Gated and Private Villa Retreat
10/10 Excellent
"Amazing property, stunning views, great time with family. Have in mind tough access to the property (steep and definitely need 4x4 vehicle to get there. Make sure you arrive at day light to check in for the first time. "
"Beautiful house. So clean, peaceful, modern, and spacious. Pool was fantastic and it was fun to watch the monkeys, birds, and butterflies from the yard. Convenient location to Uvita and Dominical surf spots. Definitely need high clearance 4x4 for the road to the house for easier access. We had a low 4x4 and hit a lot of rocks, ruts, and deep puddles. Path to beach is a 3 minute walk. Like many beaches in Costa Rica, this one had a bank of rocks and was hard to access at high tide. However there is a dirt trail parallel to the beach that takes you over to beautiful Playa Arco in about 10 minutes. Managers were helpful and quick to respond. Lovely stay. "
"The location of the property is beautiful, set back from the road and elevated for a great view of the Pacific. We particularly enjoyed the Happy Hour each day at 5:00 to enjoy the fabulous sunsets. The pool, the colorful plants, the toucans, tanagers, orapendulas and numerous other birds added so much to our visit. The staff was so accommodating and friendly. Our 5 days spent at Cristal Ballena were top notch!"
"Our stay was more than we could have dreamed of. The house was larger and more beautiful than it appears in the pictures. It was closer to the ocean than expected and the yard and beaches were gorgeous. We went for spring break and hardly saw any other people on the beach! The access to Playa Archo was so fun because it felt like our little secret. We were so thankful for the air conditioning in one bedroom. We ended up having family game nights in there a couple of times so everyone could cool off. The only thing I would change would be more lighting for the evenings. We cooked dinner at home a lot and even with the brighter lights above the island it still felt dark for preparing a meal. Natalia graciously met us when we arrived in the pouring rain and was easy to reach and quick to respond our whole stay. The Ballena Bistro at the end of the road was wonderful too! The only downside was the distance from the airport in San Jose, but it was still worth the drive! "
