An oasis in Uvita. The Owner was excellent, very friendly and always had time for a chat with guests. Location was great, good parking, breakfast was good, clean and comfortable rooms with lots of space. Pool area was quiet, you would not believe you are in a town, Highly recommend to stay here

The 24/7 front counter is a great feature, the pool is nice, the suite upstairs had all we needed in the kitchen, and hot water with good pressure in the shower. The fridge came in handy for leftovers from our favorite restaurant just a few minutes up the street. We met friendly travelers and had a fantastic visit.

Amazing staff! Everyone was so pleasant and nice and genuinely care about their residents. They were quick to respond to any requests we had. The rooms were spacious and clean. After a very long day in shuttles from Puerto Viejo, Gilberto was a very gracious, friendly and welcoming host. He quickly got us into our room and albeit "Happy Hour" was over, he set us up with a couple beverages and let us get settled. Our room had all the amenities we needed with a nice balcony and view of the tropical gardens. The breakfast was good with several options, and the pool and lounging area were the perfect addition after a day at Bahia Ballena and other excursions. The staff, Jess at the front desk, the cooking and cleaning crew were all wonderful and very friendly. There is a grocery store/deli, Steve's, right at the corner which was great to have, and a restaurant La Fogata directly across from it, with many more dining options just a few minutes walk away. We enjoyed our time in Uvita and happily recommend staying here.

We stayed at Ballena Rey Hotel from December 14–18 in Unit 9 while traveling from Canada to do some scuba diving in Uvita, and we had a wonderful experience from start to finish. The hotel was very clean and well maintained. Housekeeping came every day to clean the room and provide fresh towels, which we really appreciated after long days of diving. The hotel is located in a safe and quiet neighbourhood. The property itself has a peaceful atmosphere and was never noisy. Our unit was on the ground floor beside the pool and restaurant area, but noise was never an issue. By the time we went to bed around 9 p.m., everything was calm and quiet. The bed and pillows were also very comfortable to sleep in which makes a huge difference. Every staff member we encountered was friendly and welcoming. The daytime manager at the front desk (we unfortunately can’t remember his name) truly stood out. He went above and beyond to help us with any requests, always greeted us with a warm smile, and genuinely cared about how our day was going. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a place to stay in Uvita!
