"This is a delightful place to stay--it's quite close to the town of Black Mountain as well as Ridgecrest Conference Center. It's pet friendly and the hostess is absolutely wonderful. You will feel welcomed and cared for! My only caveat is that for your arrival, try to get there before dark as the back mountain roads are a bit tricksy to navigate and there's not a motion-activated exterior light. Once you're there--the check-in is easy and thereafter you can make a point of leaving the porch light on for any evening excursions. If you're a "stay in" sort--the kitchen has an abundance of appliances so cooking is a breeze. Highly recommend for mother-daughter or BFF get-aways!"
"I have been going to Montreat my whole life, and this cabin felt like a trip back in time to when the retreat town was established. The cabin is very rustic. The kitchen was updated enough for us to be able to cook normally, and the bed we slept in was new and very comfortable. The front porch is the best part of the house with lots of room to eat, sit, and enjoy Montreat’s beauty. We walked or took a short drive from the house to the trailheads and saw some gorgeous vistas. And of course we walked to the center of Montreat as well. It is a perfect location to enjoy the town."
