Perfect family friendly retreat near hiking, Montreat, and Black Mountain

"Well-equipped, relaxed-feel house - a great base for walking and hiking. Sinks in most of the rooms are handy as there is just one full bath on the top floor, shared in our case by 6 of us (another bathroom in the basement one en-suite).One suggestion for improvement would be to have regular beds rather than trundle beds in two of the bedrooms. Montreat is lovely and the location was delightful."

"We enjoyed our stay here. Although it’s an inexpensive older motel, much has been updated, such as the flooring. The beds and pillows were very comfortable, and everything was quite clean. We had a comfortable chair in our room, as well as a comfortable office chair at the desk We contacted the front desk, both for check-in and when something came up later, they were very polite, friendly and accommodating We travel with our dogs, so they put us in a room with hard surface floors down near the end of that wing. That made it much more convenient for us. They provide a simple grab and go breakfast. That consist of things like an assortment of prepackaged muffins (Chocolate Chip, Blueberry, etc) as well as hot water & teabags, and hot coffee. There are also other Breakfast choices like McDonalds in the area. Also great choices for other meals such as Craft Brewery, Bistro, great Mexican restaurant all close by. Next time we’re in the area, we will definitely stay there again."

"This spot was perfect for our couples weekend over Labor Day! The location was ideal. The house was the perfect mix of new and the old mountain house we were hopeful for! The special details and the knod to Montreat and the area were very nostalgic. The large tv for game day was perfect! We can’t wait to come back!"

"Very clean and of course adorable with the Barbie theme, host was incredibly hospitable. Had everything I needed for the weekend. I even made a friend with a chicken as I was checking out. Would stay again!"

"The house was comfortable and clean. Very nice stay. Kitchen was adequately equipped. I accidentally left my hot water pot in the kitchen so that is now a nice addition. Would definitely stay there again. The floors in the main bedroom were noisy which only bothered us at night. The host did not send any info about checking out so we did what we normally do and hoped that was the correct way."
