Damage waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a nightly damage waiver fee, plus tax if applicable (the “Damage Waiver”). (A discount may be applied for stays of 28 nights or longer, if permitted.) The Damage Waiver covers you for up to $3,000 of accidental damage to the Property or its contents (such as furniture, fixtures, and appliances) as long as you report the incident to the host prior to checking out. The Damage Waiver fee eliminates the need for a traditional security deposit.

Wish we could have stayed longer

The look of the cabin is awesome. The kids loved sleeping up in the loft. Having the ability to do laundry was key for us and the location was closer than Anchorage to get to Whittier for our glacier tour.

Cute leaning cabin

This was a cute, old cabin (the whole house is leaning) in a small neighborhood. It felt calm and secluded and had everything we needed for our stay. If you're staying here, definitely check out the short hike to Virgin Creek Falls - it was incredible!

Great location but outdated cabin

Overall stay in the cabin was pleasant, beautiful rustic cabin feels in an amazing girdwood location. However the property requires major upgrades. The shower in one of the bathroom was not working.

Window in bedroom would not close. Beds are listed incorrectly as the master has a double not a queen. Has a sauna but it does not work. It was clean and cozy. Lawn needs mowed

Rustic

The photos are a bit misleading. The place is very darkish and the floors are very slanted and sloped. The neighborhood seemed fine. No one in Alaska mows lawns so it’s very much like staying in the woods. We didn’t use the kitchen. It was mostly clean. The place is very worn and dated.

The good and the bad

The place was adequate. We didn’t cook there so I can’t provide feedback on the kitchen. The place is dark. The pictures don’t really adequately show the place. I’m sure it was really nice in its prime. It’s old, run down, the floors slope badly and has a musty smell. The good is that it did have 4 beds, that were all fairly comfortable. It was close to restaurants on the main street and it was pretty clean, for the most part. The front porch area had a few cobwebs but we didn’t spend any time in there.

This rental is located close to the resort and all parts of the town. Pictures on this listing are accurate and the place was just as expected. There is a sauna inside the place and although I didn’t use it I did test it and it worked.

Teen Birthday Ski Weekend

So cute, the loft was perfect for the teens. Super close to slopes. Adult bedroom removed from the kids, thank you. Watching DVDs from the diverse collection was nostalgic and fun.

Beautiful and very comfortable log cabin.. It looks a little rough on the outside...but beautiful interior. Roads ran on both sides of the cabin..but very little traffic in September when we were there. Walking distance to the ski area for hiking.

Perfect!

I wish i could've stayed here longer but unfortunately i had to leave to come back to the thing called work! You could sit on the front porch and drink coffee, and watch some moose, walk to some water falls, or play in yard with kids. I would come back again!

Great stay!

If you are looking for an older, cute, and cozy cabin with all the quirks that come with an older cabin, this is the place for you! We had a great time in this cabin in both the indoor and outdoor space. It is very conveniently located to everything in the area. The beds were very comfortable and slept well. The only downside was that there weren't blinds on all the windows. So in June it wasn't super dark. However, there were plenty of blankets that we made our own black out curtains and slept great!

When we arrived, the cleaning person was still at the residence. She told us we could come in but we went to get something to eat instead. The residence was musty smelling and I'm guessing there is no building code there because it would never pass lol. I would not stay here again and I would not recommend it. Perfect skiing location

The location in Girdwood is perfect for Alyeska. The cabin itself was fine. It defines has some foundation issues as none of the floors are level. None of the tv remotes work and the sauna never got hot so it wasn’t very useful. The shower head in the living room bathroom also has a seal issue and shoots water sideways. None of these things are deal breakers but manage your expectations going in.

Uneven floors and dirty windows

One of the reasons we picked this location was a great view and a nice screened in porch but the windows were all dirty/cloudy upon arrival. spider webs and dead flies on the porch, and as others have said, the floors are uneven, noticeably so.

Cabin is cute, clean enough. Alot of slants. There was issues with electricity, one day lost power to part of place, next day breaker blew for kitchen. The fan/light combo in living room should be looked at, it flashes and wobbles really bad like the light part is about to fall. Would also have been nice to hose down the outside porch-layers of pollen! May look at doing again next July tho, convenient to Forest Fair. Thank you
