The location can’t be beat—walking distance to so many of Amsterdam’s attractions, plus great restaurants, all in a very walkable and uncrowded area. The apartment itself is spotless, modern, well equipped, and full of charm. Malo and Maarten are wonderful hosts. They even provided breakfast for our entire stay, with fresh bread, snacks, yogurt, cheese, juice, and prepared meat. The photos are completely accurate. We couldn’t have asked for a better place.

The area was spacious and clean. The host supplied breakfast for our entire stay with fresh bread, yoghurt, cheese, juice and prepared meets. The location is amazing. There is a metro stop that is just a 5 min walk. There are shops and restaurants everywhere. There is a grocery and wine sire minutes away. It exceeded our expectations

Sweet home

Such a perfect place to stay. Lovely home. Location was very walkable to all our interests. Hosts were so friendly and helpful. Felt very safe. Off the beaten track. Weekends were very busy but exciting. Quieter during the week. Walking food tour was the best

Great location

Hosts are amazing, apartment safe and comfortable. If you have problems with steps, there are a few outside and inside. Excellent location. We easily walked to most neighborhoods and metro always nearby. LOVED using the bikes! Unfortunately, a lot of our visit was rainy, but we still had an excellent experience!

Our stay was just what we needed on our first trip to Amsterdam. Maarten and his wife were so sweet to leave us breakfast in the fridge, the most delicious bread, coffee, and various other snacks on the counter for us to enjoy!! We loved the attention to detail. The location of their place was also SO ideal! It’s further enough from city central, but not too far (I believe their house is the 4th canal over from city central). VERY walkable and not as crowded which we liked a lot. They also have bikes you can use if you please! Would recommend :)

Blueprint Haven

This is a cosy home away from home amongst the beautiful canals of Amsterdam! Very quiet and well appointed with everything required in all areas: kitchen, living area and bathroom. Even a small patio off the comfortable bedroom. Included are bikes that Maarten adjusted to fit each of us. Malo and Maarten are caring and conscientious hosts who went out of their way to address our inquiries quickly and thoughtfully. We don’t hesitate to recommend this excellent Amsterdam VRBO.

They had the refrigerator filled before we arrived with cheeses, meat, bread, breakfast foods and more! We would highly recommend this vacation home to anyone traveling to Amsterdam !

The positives: Host Maarten is very friendly and accomodating. He and his family live directly above the basement apartment in their 18th century house. My wife and I arrived at the apartment at about 10:30am after disembarking from our river cruise ship. Because the apartment was still occupied, it would not be cleaned and ready for us until about 4:00pm as advertised. Maarten allowed us to store our luggage in his home while we explored Amsterdam and then was kind enough to take the luggage to the apartment before we arrived back. The apartment was very clean and the food Maarten provided included fresh bagels and bread, fruit, ham slices, cheese, yogurt, coffee and hot chocolate. The apartment is within walking distance to many of Amsterdam's museums and attractions. The negatives: The main reason I did not give the apartment a 5 star rating is the lack of soundproofing between the apartment and the house above where Maarten lives with his family. One night the sound of footsteps above our bedroom woke me at 11:30 p.m. and then again the next night at 12:30 a.m. At times we could hear Maarten and his family talking back and forth. Also, instead of the couch being at the back of the living room as shown in the pictures, there is now a small winding staircase that appears to lead to a trap door and cuts down on the useable space. Although the shower fixture is very nice, the space including the sink is about 8 feet long and 3 feet wide. There is little storage space.

This ground floor flat is in the Centrum of Amsterdam. You can walk to the museums and you can walk to Dam Square. Wonderful location near Prinsengracht (Prince's Canal) with restaurants, shops, parks, markets, and many places of interest.Host was easy to reach and responsive. Maarten provided delicious bread, croissants, and yogurt for our breakfasts. Tea and coffee provided. Flat has a funky layout but it worked for us. Wonderful hot shower. Comfortable bed.We did not use the bikes offered as cycling in Amsterdam is a serious activity and without knowing the rules it can be dangerous for foreigners. So we walked or used OV Pay to ride trams, Metro, and trains. We even got the senior discount.Recommend taking the free ferries to the North side of Amsterdam even if just to see the skylines.
